Fifteen years ago I was saying it wouldn't happen for another twenty years.

We're on track to make it happen sooner than that, so I was wrong. :sunglasses:

It seems like every year has been "the year" for about 5 years running. Maybe longer.

I don't even get worked up over this anymore. I'll believe it when it happens.

The article has a good point buried in the article. There was no real change in the congressional membership from last year when a bill was introduced. As much as I want it to, I wouldn't expect it to pass this year.

If we want real change, now is the time to lay the ground work and hound the folks running for office this summer and fall. Nothing like hearing from the constituents during the stump speeches to help push an issue from and center!

It would be nice if it did happen. We're making steps in the right direction with Sunday growler sales. I just don't think we're there yet. Oh, well, I will still make the drive to Wisconsin, even if it's over an hour away for me, just to get stuff I can't get in MN.

yeah, I like the convenience of Sunday, but worry about smaller stores closing and growlers shops having to compete with liquor stores on Sunday. I read somewhere some growlers stores like the Sunday sales but miss the time they didn't have to worry about the store and enjoyed their family time.

Yes, I understand that. For me, though, Sunday is my only day off in the week. I do like being able to go and get a growler that day (see my avitar from Montgomery Brewing on the first Sunday they were able to sell).

And these people who would rather not have to worry about working on Sunday are different than all the other businesses that have to work on Sunday how? Maybe we should close everything on Sunday like the old days so people don't have to worry about it and can enjoy family time. Close the restaurants, tobacco sales, grocery stores (plan ahead), pharmacies (plan ahead), meat markets (plan ahead),department stores, gas stations (better fill up on Saturday) etc, etc...

That would be awesome! Better yet if it was Monday. Then everyone would love Mondays!

And may I say, I'm a bit disappointed to come back to this thread & see that it hasn't hit 300 posts filled with angry rants. I'll be looking forward to it, again.

Given what I've read, I'm surprised it even came up for a vote this year. Didn't seem like a priority when those knuckleheads haven't even hammered out the framework for a budget with two weeks left in the session.

Now this is something I would support. Give everyone a fucking day off, we would all be much better for it.

Well, any time I go to the cities on a Sunday, my car will continue to veer toward Hudson to get beer. My taxes will continue to go to our next door neighbor.

Ok, Hudson, and Somerset. The Oliphant is too powerful.

The Sunday drives to Hudson are safe for another year at least. The wife will be thrilled.

Democrats push every far left position to the hilt including boycotting states that don't share the same opinions as them yet this Sunday liquor is too radical for them?

Republicans push free market, let businesses compete on fair ground, etc, etc, but won't allow all businesses the opportunity to open as many days as they wish?

This is sad. Both parties are to blame. This liquor lobby against it is powerful. More work needs to be done to get this through..lawmakers need to hear from people pissed about this.
