Nope, although there was a barrel aged version at the tap room a while back.

Perhaps they didn't enter. Or, in Surly's case, their signature beers would compete in the highly competitive IIPA and American Style IPA categories.

Using the ratings on this site, here is how two of Surly's beers compare to the winners in those categories:

    IIPA
    Abrasive: 100
    Creeper: 97 (gold)
    Hop 15: 93 (silver)
    Pliny the Elder: 100 (bronze)

    American IPA
    Furious: 96
    Breakside IPA: 90 (gold)
    Heyoka: 92 (silver)
    Bodhi: 100 (bronze)

So, even if Surly entered their Abrasive and Furious beers, the winners were no slouches. (It is curious to note, however, that Bodhi, which took bronze in the American IPA category is listed on this site as an IIPA.)

Its tough for seasonals like Abrasive to compete. You either have to brew a special batch just to send to GABF, which screws up your schedule and either leaves a lot of beer around or you sell it out of season, or you send old beer which is equally as bad.

I would be okay with Abrasive being sold out of season
