I heard about it through some friends, im not sure if they got an email or not. The 12 year EC sold out really fast and the 10 year was available for a couple hours.

Gotcha. I had been checking but didn't even think to check yesterday until it was mentioned in here. Oh well.

It had a bottle limit of 4 as well, at least the 10year. Shocked it lasted that long on the website.

Yeah limits were 4 and 2. The 12 year went quick.

How did people find out? Was it just word of mouth?

It was mentioned first by Jacob that some bottles would be sold through them, but I found out from a buddy that has ordered in the past and received an email. Sadly I was too late to get a bottle, ah well.

Makes sense. I swore I was signed up for the Beer emails from them. Just checked my preferences though...sure enough, I wasn't signed up for them.

I was at the first session as well, and I believe I was 50th or 60th in line, and was able to score a 10yr and 12yr. My GF came with me(it was her bday), and she had a blast. Great event with perfect amount of people. When there was a line of 10 people or so at the bar, it only took a minute or so, to get your drink. Thanks MT, will be back next year!

Great event over the weekend. Much respect to Modern Times for running an event well and doing it properly. This is probably the most well organized one that I've been too. Thank you for not stuffing the place too what seems like over capacity like every other event I've been to. And the Nitro Barrel Aged Monsters' Park... wow.

Secondly, where is the hype for the 10yr and 12year BBA Monsters' Park? I drank a bottle of the 10yr last night and it was incredible. Fantastic bottle. Great job again, MT.

    P.S. More Dial Up please...!

Speaking of Dial Up, just curious – it had a really cool and interesting texture on my tongue that I’ve never gotten from any other beer before, kinda like really really really tiny pop rocks. Of course, initial thought would be that it has to do with the carb, but like I said I’ve never really noticed it in any other beer I’ve ever had (and Dial Up was like my 2nd beer that day, BTW). At least one of my friends noticed it too. Thoughts?

I haven't been paying close attention - can anyone tell me if the mixed packs that are available at Costco (or were last week) were canned before they made changes to address the oxygen problems? I've only tried the Oneida and Fortunate Isles so far, but both were disappointing, especially the Oneida, which I couldn't finish.

They would very likely be from after, I don't think they've made any substantial canning line changes since the well-publicized issues with Booming Rollers a few months ago (IIRC, canning run 2 for BR was bad but canning run 3 showed quite a bit of improvement). @ModernTimesJacob can likely provide more detail, but the impression I've gotten is that they have a much better handle on how much dissolved oxygen is ending up in the cans and they're still making minor adjustments to try to optimize the canning line.

Then maybe the cans are just old, or sat around warm too long...

I had some Oneida yesterday dated 6/1 and it was spectacular.

I also think Booming Rollers in particular was extremely susceptible to oxidation due to the sensitive nature of citra hops.

Yeah, my 6/1 oneida is still fantastic .
