How'd you hear about it (for future reference)? I've signed up for their emails with MT as a keyword a while back, but never heard anything.

I asked that question last week as well.. Apparently some people got emails when it went up. Other than that, I think it was just word of mouth.

the keyword doesn't trigger immediately. It's usually a few days up to a week.

You had to choose the "Beer" category in your E-mail preferences, something I found out too late. :slight_frown:

Yeah. It was pretty tasty. Much better than I had anticipated. I knew it would be good, but it was kind of delicious, actually. Steep price, but good coffee ain't cheap these days

Yes and it really is delicious, as is every one of their coffees that I have tried. I actually just emptied the bag of Secret Beach I bought at the anniversary party this morning and now I am sad.

Good beans may seem pricey, but in the grand scheme of things I don't really think they are. Look at some Starbucks latte fufu nonsense that costs $6/cup or even a cup of gas station swill that will run you $1.25. Buying whole beans, even on the high end of the spectrum, is just as cost effective if not more so! Plus it's just better coffee and supports small businesses (drink local/drink quality).

If you--or anyone else out there reading this--can get me 5,000lbs of 2017 crop year Nelson, I will make this beer all day. Until that happens, Nelson is on ration for us.
This is an excellent point. Bags of our barrel-aged beans may seem expensive, but it works out to $2.50 per brewed cup. That's a screaming deal for something that's expensive & risky & challenging to make, and tastes like the tears of Zeus.

    Cheers & thanks,

Seriously. I spoke with my wife about it yesterday. I'm not sure what exactly is happening with that Nelson farm changing owners or what, but how about we start a crowd funding and just buy the whole thing and then supply to MT and Alpine  I can volunteer to be sent out there and manage the farm :stuck_out_tongue:

That's basically what I was saying in my post. I used to work in specialty coffee, and I had to deal with people complaining about the price all the time. People have no clue how lucky they are to get coffee as cheap as they do. A world class cup of coffee is far less expensive than a world class glass of wine, and often just as nuanced, complex, and delicious. I only said "it's pricey," because it is more expensive than your average bag of beans, but entirely justified.

To be clear, I wasn't complaining about the price. I used to work in specialty coffee and have a tremendous appreciation for the value of world class coffee compared to other specialty beverages. A cup of truly special Gesha (aka Geisha) coffee, which is arguably one of the world's most wonderful varietals, is almost always less expensive than one of the finest glasses of Bordeaux one could conceivably drink, and I'd argue almost, or just as, delicious.

Can't wait until you guys are pumpin out some COE Gesha! Cheers!

The Kenyan BA coffee has been insane. I'm almost through my second bag. I prefer that one over the Colombian one. I'm curious to see how the Port BA coffee will be.

All of this information from you and others about this entire hop situation is slightly depressing. I've stocked up on a few expensive bottles of whiskey for next year just in case many of our favorite hops go the way of the DoDo bird.
