The email didn't specifically say they made less than last year, it said there's less than a typical 22oz release. I'm guessing that 1) a portion of it went into barrels and 2) it has a slightly longer turnaround than something like Lost Horizon, so they can only brew so much in a given amount of time.

Either way, glad to see it back.

There was a twitter or instagram post last year saying that it wouldn't be as prevalent this year because it was so resource intensive to brew.

Looking forward to Monster's Park. Think I might be the only one that enjoys it (much) more than the BA versions

To clarify, we are making less than a typical 22oz release, but not less than last year. The brewery has grown so much that last year's quantities look tiny by comparison.

I didn't mention this in the email because we were still working it out when I was composing it, but this will actually be the last year we include Monsters' Park in our monthly special release program. We may do it again as a small bottling run just for our tasting rooms or a limited number of stores, but not on a large scale. It's just not really feasible to be brewing a 12% beer on the scale & timeline that's required of our monthly releases, which, as I mentioned, have increased in volume tremendously. Simultaneously, we're brewing a ton of Monsters' Park to fill barrels, which we feel is a better use for this beer than a mass release of the base beer. So in the interest of keeping this place running efficiently & making the best use of the MP we have, we're replacing it with a rye imperial porter in the 2016 release calendar.

    Cheers & thanks,

@ModernTimesJacob Any idea of when said 2016 release calendar will be finalized and published?

@ModernTimesJacob For the new version of the new version of the League would it be possible to have more time for bottle pickups? I am leaving SoCal soon, but will get back at least twice a year and would like to just have more pickup flexibility.

Or maybe league members are allowed to pickup bottles for other league members....but then this idea brings out the whole proxy thing and could turn into a crapshoot.

He has allowed league members to use proxies in the past so that's not a stretch.

Yeah, proxies have always been fine for League members. If necessary that is always an option. I am just hoping to actually pick the stuff up myself anyways on the assumption that things go more the way of the Bruery to have larger windows of pickups.

Nothing makes me want a league reboot more than that Coconut Coffee Monsters Park that's on draft right now and league growler fills only :slight_frown:.

Yet another thing that will likely disappear before I get a chance to hit up Modem Tones. Maybe I can beg their rep up here (whom I see to bump into at a lot of places) to throw a keg on tap nearby. LOL

We are certainly discussing longer pick-up windows, but the thing to keep in mind when comparing this to a place like The Bruery is that they have 4 full-time people managing a society in the thousands. We don't have anywhere near those resources, nor will we have a separate storefront just for League members. So it's gotta work within the context of our tasting room, at least for now.

And proxies...yeah. I would prefer to see if we can do without them. I have allowed it for League members now because there's about 3 people who have requested it and that's easy to manage. 400 people is a different story.

Want in so bad, but trustee would be my only option. You think shipping within Ca via GSO, would be a possibility?

Although this might be hard as well =\

Shipping is definitely the most resource intensive option. Frankly, I'd rather build more tasting rooms to slowly expand local bottle pick-ups than get into shipping.
