I know it's pretty much end of the year, but I'm trying to get a feel for how to do 2017. I'm not sure if these releases are distributed nationally, as I live in NorCal, and I am able to get these. But I haven't seen threads on BA talking about them. Are people interested in them? Have people tried them? I don't even see them reviewed much in the review section either. Personally, as far as the 2016 beers I've tried... Floating World - IPA featuring African hops: Southern Passion & African Queen (aka J17). This was my favorite MT release this year. Iron Sunrise - IPL. Hoppy and smooth as a IPL should be. Also delicious stuff. Universal Friend - Grape saison with must. Very odd tasting beer. TBH, I drainpoured it. Protocosmos - Galaxy-hopped focus IPA. Decent, but I was hoping for it to be 100% Galaxy hopped. I felt it just tasted ordinary as it was. Mega Fortunate Islands with Grapefruit Zest - Only had on draught. Probably my favorite rendition of the FI family. Trueland - Only had on draught. Simcoe / Amarillo pale ale. Super dank Simcoe bomb of a pale. Sleepless City - Only had on draught. Coffee brown. 'Nuff said.
Pretty sure these monthly special releases are going to see Modern Times's normal distribution footprint just like the beers you mentioned above. Other than that, not sure what your question is. Many of the beers in the 2017 lineup are new, so they haven't been tried by the masses.
Oh, my question was more that I haven't seen BeerAdvocate talk about any of the 2016 releases. (not on Beer Release or Pacific Forums) - So does that mean people here aren't drinking them? - Does that mean people aren't interested in the 2017 monthlies either?
Yup, no one here talked about the canned IPA releases, accumulated knowledge, the special taps and various fills at all.
