My first brew attempt was using the same kit you are referencing. Don't worry, it wasn't very bitter. Mine might have had some really old ingredients however it didn't taste like an IPA at all.

Did yours seem to form true on the top and the bottom? I’m hoping I didn’t screw anything up,I was pretty anal about sanitization and followed the directions to the letter but I’m not sure this looks right,I’m about 30 hours into fermenting and it looks like yeast has traveled into my blow off tub and also near the neck of the jug

Not sure what you mean by "form true on the top and bottom" but what you describe sounds like fermentation to me. Sanitation is, of course, really important, but nothing in here suggests a problem with sanitation. One issue with small batch brewing is that if you have some blow off, you don't have much of a batch left over. Ideally you have enough headspace in your fermenter to prevent blow off losses, but I can imagine a small batch equipment kit might cut corners and give you a fermenter that is too small.

Yes that is normal. I believe what you see on top is called krousen. Eventually what isn't attached to the carboy will settle to the bottom.
