See my post above. This release is going to be DIFFERENT from the other 2019 releases. Back to LONG and Early LINES for BAPM for sure.

I was being sarcastic, it's hard sometimes to convey that sometimes. But yes I do believe it will be crazy that day.

Imbebe seems to have gone inactive. Sinhoptra is definitely back. He’s out here trying to peddle this new beer any way he can. He’s posted replies on several different trade threads asking if people are interested in it. Brutal to see.

im actually happy some of the hype has died down. i do gotto say the tap list has been pretty rewarding to visitors, and not just to members, to everyone who makes hte trip

at one point i thought i was sol on a bunch of stuff to show up and see it was still on tap, like the mt collab and the tg collab, both of those guys were great, and on tap for a looong time

last time i went they still had bottles to go which was nice as well

Surprised nobody chimed in on Moksa this weekend. After members picked up their bottles on Friday the official count for the public sale was 342 for BA PM.

Line started at 1AM on Saturday morning. Most estimates say it was sold out to the line by about 4AM. Many people got there after that but were to late. Even an hour or so after open when I drove by there were still parts of the line that were still waiting to purchase. Complaints were pretty limited on the FB, those should have known what was going on going in.....

Surprisingly they put on a full keg of BA PM about 2:30pm on Saturday. It was still pouring on Sunday night...haha... Apparently people just want the bottle for trading, but not enough to get a pour with no line wait???

On a side note, yeah, pretty good from the draft I had. Get the coconut for sure. Some Hazelnut. Bigggg desert sweetness.

@KevSal did you make it out? I saw @grze had a review up.

Heard alot of different things about Saturdays release which honestly was a Friday release based on how many people lined up after closing. But good for the people who really wanted the bottles to show up earlier then everyone else. Can't make everyone happy, someone is always going to be upset.
2 points I'm going to make are these:

    1. Moksa was supposed to make an announcement on the bottle count which would have made decision making easier for the people going up. Luckily I knew someone already there that let me know at 2:30 that around 150 people were already there. Derick had made a comment on member FB page stating that there were only 342 bottles for sale after the member sale. If this info would have been posted the night before I think more people would have shown up later after the bottle sale to grab a pour. However many people didn't know and showed up only to find out the bottle count was posted after all wrist bands were handed out. Then there was this handing out tickets for pours of the regular pastry method and or the ba pastry method. Some people knew about it some didn't. I'm just glad I didn't go. My brother actually drove up to moksa , 1hr away btw, and they told him he had to wait till everyone got their bottles and pours first till he could get a pour. That means waiting from 8am till I think it was 12 or 1pm just to get a pour. Again I think the lack of communication played a big roll here. I believe most people knowing all the info would have made different choices. It honestly felt like a member only release, which is what they probably should have done. ( I'm not a member). Oh yeah no map was given.
    2. The bottle count 342. For such an low count, like I said before, they should have just released it to the membership as almost 100 people were lined up outside of moksa when it closed at 11. Hopefully in the future with a big release they can produce more.
    Sorry for the long post

I got to the release at 410am. I was #145 in line. Beer made it to #171 (342 bottle count). So you had to be there by 430 for your bottles. Moksa is hit or miss for me. Some are fantastic, some are very mediocre. This one, for me, was a home run. Im glad I was able to make it in time.

Out of curiosity, how much are members typically allocated for each of these sales?

This was not a member bottle. But Members got Pre-Sale the night before. 2 PP.

It has varied at other public sales depending on bottle yield.

Incorrect, members were allowed one bottle per person on a presale. You could pick it up either thursday or friday.

Thank you for posting this @Rustytacos. I was there and got there by 5 am and waited in line a few hours until everyone was told they were sold out. And honestly, I wouldn't have had a problem with that at all because "you win some you lose some" in the beer hobby...and, I actually had a decent time chatting with other beergeeks out there.

The issue was that Moksa didn't follow through with what they said they were going to do. They said they would communicate their bottle count on Friday night. Everybody was waiting for that info and if I knew it was such a low amount, I would have stayed home, warm in bed. They knew the night before what the bottle count was... and, it takes two minutes, if that, to post it to the socials. That is just basic customer service. I live only 30 minutes or so away, so not that big of deal...I was in line with folks from the Bay Area or further away...even one guy from Portland!!! Everyone was asking where the info was about bottle counts.

I refrained from posting, because the Moksa fanboys have been singling out those that have complained on social media as "complainers" and "sore losers" and such...saying you didn't plan correctly, etc. If Moksa would have communicated, most of the people around me would have come earlier or just not showed up at all. A lot of time, money, planning, and resources wasted because Moksa didn't follow through on what they said they would do.

If Moksa communicated and then folks showed up and missed out, I don't think there would have been as many upset customers.

It’s amazing what breweries will do to keep the hype up.

I'm upset how things went down but they have made some good to great stouts. I'm just not going to be looking out for moksa in the foreseeable future. I'll let my wallet do the talking, maybe it won't do anything but whatever. However in the end it's just beer.

Was Derek part of the Abnormal 'braintrust' who came out with the $145 release package of beer plus designer sunglasses in 2017?

actually derek has said its in the works. hes pretty active and transparent in the moksa group, and quickly answers concerns. so far everything hes said has come so hopefully later this year we'll be able to. initially the biggest issue is storage space, i dont think they have the room to hold onto bottles for 300 plus members on top of the member bottles.

id be down for just through the weekend myself, sundays its a quick drive
