The new stout, Salud, was pretty tasty as well. Available at the brewery on draft. Bottles only available to those who attended the member party (Which was insane!!!!)

yes i did make it up! only tried moksa 2 on tap, and it was fantastic. also didn’t renew

with no proxies, and the new baby it’s just way to difficult to make it up 4 times. really wish they would let other members proxy for each other like sara, i defintly would have re upped. maybe when that changes i’ll join again. all the member beers have been fantastic!

had this this past saturday since i missed the party and it was quite insane

still have to pick up my lucious bottles, no idea when i’ll be able to make it back so soon :/

Went with a few people doing various flights. Everyone in our group liked the Salud. Saw they were also pouring it at the Pastry Town/OH event this past weekend.

Another BA User pointed out that Moksa doesn't seem to get a lot of love on BA. I just want to give a shout-out to this top-tier brewery and possibly #1 in Greater Sacramento. The IPA's are fire and the BA Stouts can go head-to-head with just about anyone. They have shipping available and I highly recommend you add to your shipping rotations. The latest IPA's look really good, but hoping they will add a BA stout option again soon!

My opinion as a Bay Area resident.....I think the hype was MASSIVE pre-opening. Then, the hype didn't quite live up to that level. The pricing and quality were also tough sell for beer folks that have been around for a while. I split the Membership with a friend, and after 2 years, I dropped out. This was mainly based of the return for the $$$, plus seeing them release much better beers as limited public bottles. Easy decision. I know 2 other folks from the Bay Area that also dropped them.

The beers are mostly pretty good, to very good. Just a tough sell for me being 2 hours away and the $$$ per oz.

If I were local to them, I'd be pretty happy to have them regularly, and still a member. But with SO MANY options now, I'm just a bit more protective of my time and money.

Moksa is reopening their taproom on May 21st. For in taproom pours and seating. Some strict guidelines including required food on every drink ticket.

As many of you know, Placer County has been given the green light by the Governor to loosen its business related restrictions. This Thursday May 21st Moksa Brewing Co will be reopening our taproom for on site consumption and welcoming back the customers that we miss and love. Our staff is currently being trained on the proper cleaning processes which have been set by the ABC and CDC. There are plenty of changes to how we will be conducting business so please read ALL the information provided below. The biggest being the fact that we are required to serve a meal with EVERY transaction that has beer. Of course this will all be temporary until more restrictions are loosened. We will also being offering a limited menu of beers to go like we have been doing. Not everything on draft will be available to go.

    NEW HOURS (starting Thursday)

    Monday - Thursday 3-9pm
    Friday - Sunday 12-9pm
    Memorial Day 12-9pm

    NEW TEMPORARY TAPROOM GUIDELINES

    - Taproom will be restricted to half capacity
    - Once at capacity there will be a first come, first serve wait list to enter
    - Once your name is up we will give you a phone call and you will have 5 minutes to claim your table before we move onto the rest of the list
    - Parties no more than 4 people
    - 21+ adults only
    - No kids
    - No dogs
    - Tables will be at least 6 feet apart from one another
    - Masks are not required but highly recommended
    - EVERY tab or single transaction MUST include a $2.50 hot dog that will be delivered to your table when it is ready
    - You may choose not to eat the hot dog but we must charge you for it
    - There will be veggie options
    - No drinking in non-designated areas

All of this is just as new to us as it is to you. We are asking for your patience as we figure all this out, especially finding accurate wait times once we reach capacity. For the safety and respect of the bar staff and other guests we reserve the right to ask anyone to leave if they do not comply with the above guidelines.

Looks like a new wrinkle or work around from Moksa. They are going to sell $5 Food Truck voucher on your beer sales ticket.

You will have the option to either purchase from the bar a $2.50 hotdog or a $5.00 voucher for that day's food truck (when available).

Just a side note if anyone is headed out there for the reopening today, they have scheduled the "Nash and Proper" Food Truck. Nashville Hot Chicken SAMMICH. One of the most popular food trucks in the Sacramento Area. Going to be a big crowd with a lot of waiting.

Surprised no one posted about the Saturday 6/13 release for Pastry MODE. Possible return of 2am Saturday morning lining up/camping.....lol... possible 12 Magnum bottles also... With 600 bottles, you really shouldn't have to get there that early.. Looks like a higher bottle count then "Pastry METHOD" Horus collab from last year.

    https://www.instagram.com/p/CBOskDVJNm8/

Pastry Mode is one of our most "Pastrified" Stouts that we have made to date. We started the beer with a caramel forward grain bill then boiled the wort for over 6 hours. After primary fermentation we treated the beer with .5 lbs per bbl of Congolese Vanilla Beans, 1 lb per bbl of Hazelnut Coffee and 1 lb per GALLON of raw coconut. This beer is thick, highly aromatic and VERY flavorful. Draft preview for this beer begins this Thursday at 3pm.

We are aiming to have around 600 bottles for the public after the @Moksa_Advocators take advantage of their 2 bottle presale privileges. The exact bottle count will be released Friday night before the Saturday release. Please read the entire release guidelines below to make this another smooth bottle release.

    PASTRY MODE
Imperial Stout w/ Vanilla Beans, Coconut, Hazelnut Coffee
    12.0% Alc/Vol
    $25 per 500ml bottle
Limit TWO 500ml bottles per person

That lower count was due to it being barrel aged. This isn't. Original pastry method was around this count.

Had this one from Moksa yesterday. Refraction in Action TIPA. 9.5%. Big Pineapple up front. Galaxy, Strata, Citra. A little heftier then the typical Moksa ipa.

Also looks like this one is seeing limited distro this week in Norcal and Socal.

I was actually just looking at this yesterday. How do you like it? I don't think I have ever tried Moksa's IPA's. How does it compare to other similar offerings from other breweries?

Moksa's IPAs have improved over the last few years. When they first opened they were a bit on the chalky side. Some like this one(RIA) and Turbinator are very pineapple/Dole forward if you like that profile..

They are obviously most known for their Stouts. But they do have a variety of improving West Coast and Hazy IPAs now that are seeing some distro.

I would not put them in that upper tier of NorCal IPAs. Not quite there yet with the Slice, Moonraker, New Glory, Fieldwork, ASB, Humble. CM group/tier.....
