I use a temp controlled fermentation freezer to ferment all my brews and have been getting a pretty bad mold problem going on. Unless I open the door everyday I get little specs of blue mold all over my fermenters. Good news is it doesnt ever get to the beer but its a pain in the ass to clean and I just dont want mold where I ferment all my beers/meads/wines etc.. A little about the freezer, its spakling clean and has never been used as a freezer, it has a johnson temp control on it at all time. It does sit in the garage so there can be some temp changes on the outside which I use a fan to regulate. I can put up to 3 plastic ferm buckets in there at a time and it usually stays filled. Can someone help me with this??

Have you used a desiccant or some type of dehumidifying agent in there yet?

Bleach everything, including the outside of all the buckets.

No I have not but I am thinking as humid as its been getting in the garage that might me a good way to keep it dry in there. Will also clean everything with bleach before I place my new brew in on Saturday. Thanks

Wow... I have been using my freezer as a fermentation chamber for a year now with no issue. I does get water in it, but if I give it a good wipe down after every fermentation, I guess I live in a low humidity region.
