Monday Night BA Drafty Kilt

Gold in the Barrel/Wood Category is a nice medal for sure.

BA Drafty Kilt is a damn, damn fine BA Scotch Ale. One of my favorites. I've sent a bunch out to traders as extras to spread the love. Looking forward to this years batch.

 

Enjoyed it last year. Sent out bottles in trades as well. Thought that it was great. Enjoyed it on draft recently and it was still really good. Hope to be able to add at least a couple of bottles to my collection this year.
Great win for those guys. I am sure it was thrilling.

 

Does anybody know if Monday Night won gold on the basis of last year's BA Drafty Kilt, or this year's forthcoming release? I can't help but wonder if this year's is going to be a substantial improvement over last year's great version.

 

Is this brewery-only, or is it distributed? I'm headed down to ATL for a work trip in a couple of weeks and would love to get my hands on a couple of bottles.

 

Should go into distro. Seems like there were a couple of rounds of bottles when it was released last year. This would only be the second time it has been released so hard to say what it is going to be like. You could get lucky.

 

I bet they won for this years release. I know I think RDMII mentioned it coming out in the next few weeks, and it's about the same time as last year.

I found the barrel to taste great fresh, but more to my liking after a little age. I hope it's better this year than last, because it will be fantastic this year if thats the case.

I only remember around 2 rounds of bottles, with the last round going really fast after people got a taste of it. I'm gonna snag a good few this year for sure, it's a tasty treat.

 

I remember two rounds of bottles as well. I picked up a couple the first time out without any difficulty at all, but interest did climb. I also remember bottles making their way into shops for a couple days during Craft Beer Week this past spring, but I can't say whether that was on the part of the brewer, distributor, and retailers.

I suspect interest will be higher this year, but Monday Night serves the home market first and very well.

By the way, Gun Show deserves a serious rep. That beer was crazy good--almost Tripel-like, with some nice flavors.

 

Any sightings of this around town yet? Has it come and gone?

I'm gonna get more stingy with giving it out in trades this year.. I gave all mine away as extras to trading partners!

 

I'll have word from Atlanta Beverage today, but Eagle Rock (intown distro) usually gets it first, so if anyone sees it out at Green's, Tower, etc. it's coming OTP shortly afterwards.
