After a life of indulging in everything, I have little worry of swinging the other way with an eating disorder. As for alcoholism, moderation is always the key. Spacing 4 beers properly through the day won't even get you a buzz. (of course, if you want the buzz just space them closer together)

My father used to do this but it was an absolute fast besides water...he is aging well and an extremely healthy person...I think there is really something to this beer fasting that can be very beneficial if done the right way for each individual...I hope whatever you do it turns out well!...

I promised to keep you all updated. I hit my second weekend and it was just as bad as the first. Without work all day to take my mind off of it, I just didn't have the will power. My takeaway from this experiment is 5 days is fun, but F- 30 days. I'll be looking forward to trying another 5 days next month.

I lost 8 pounds the first week, but on 4 during a cheating weekend, then lost another 8 the second week. Minimal gain the second weekend. So 2 1/2 weeks later its a net 10 pound loss.

If you're exercising in the proper heart rate range, you should end up burning fat, not carbohydrates. Seeing as the average person has somewhere in the neighborhood of 90-100x as many calories available in fat as in carbohydrates within their body, once your body learns to burn fat it can keep you going for as long as necessary in aerobic exercise.
