I don't know... This new batch of Rinse in Riffs DDH DIPA is pretty good. Galaxy and Citra.

When the temperature is 110 to 115 degrees out... that calls for a Triple IPA right...... ??? What??

    STILL TIPA'IN - 10 % - Strata, Citra, and Riwaka. Excellent.

    Very drinkable. Dangerous.....

No Se Acabo is super delish. Fresh. Also, compute is so good for a triple. I wish green cheek and monk hook up for a triple soon.

I just saw Monkish Anaheim canning 12oz beers on their IG story. Didn’t say the beer but looks like a German style. Personally I Pilsner mind seeing some ipas in 12ozs too. But I am probably in the minority

I meant to say I “personally” wouldn’t mind seeing an ipa. I get I had lager on the brain or a Freudian slip.

A lagers they are ... plus others:

    1) HELLISH - German-style Helles lager. Cold lagered for 17 weeks!!

    2) NOI SPRINGS - Lager w/ Riwaka hops from @freestylehops and lagered for 15 weeks. A collaboration w/ Theveilbrewing and Trilliumbrewing. A beer perfect for dreaming about poolside vacays

    3) SLOW PERCUSSIONS - Orange County IPA w/ Mosaic and Chinook 6.6%. “OC IPA”? - dunno - why not?! Basically an unfiltered "cold IPA"

    4) COLD BLACK HEART - Baltic Porter cold lagered for 15 weeks 9.3%

As a lover of lagers and someone who lives down the road, I was pumped to see the release today. The prices I saw though via the FB group are absurd.

4 cans / 12oz: $18 for the Helles and $19 for Noi Springs

That surpasses their most expensive TIPA canned beer by ounce. How are Green Cheek and Enegren able to pump out amazing lagers for a fraction of the price compared to Monkish? Enegren is I think $10-$11 for a 12oz 6-pack. Green Cheek is usually $14 for a 16oz 4-pack.

Major bummer on the pricing. Monkish does lagers well but the cost is disappointing.

EDIT: Hopefully I'm misinformed on the pricing. If that's the case, I'd love to hear it.

Those were in fact the prices. Monkish has always been expensive, and I’m always surprise how many people in general buy case after case when I am there.

I am local to them and frequent their establishment. I rarely get 4 packs of anything unless i truly love it, which is about every other month. The staff there are awesome tho!

Just wanted to chime in that I bought some of the Helles today, but it was a 6-pack in 12 oz cans, same for noi springs, everything else was the standard 4x16 or a bottle. Still a bit pricey but I did very much enjoy each of those beers

Yes, pricing is high at Monks. Yes, I rant a lot about high pricing. But this is Monks. The beers are still good here. I do buy cans and stop in occasionally. I don’t mind paying these prices because I still enjoy their beers. And their Anaheim location is very chill atmosphere. And yes I do see guys and gals leaving out with 2-5 or 6 cases. I guess their cans are still worthy of trading these days. I will put Cheeky above Monks in my book of ipa’s. Cheeky hazy’s are more clean & fresh tasting. Monks is more dense and hit you in yo face tasty. At least for my palate. West coast? Monks is known for their hazy’s, so Cheeky’s west coast is more hits then misses. I think North Parks west coast is a bit better than my Cheeky. But Cheeky is down PCH from me. So it’s a no brainer for me. As far as Monks lagers/pils/Belgian ales? I haven’t tried any. And yes I need to. I do buy Cheeky’s lagers/pils occasionally. And they are very good. My go to lagers/pils would be Enegren.

So cans are too expensive so you mostly only drink it on draft. And that's saving you money?

Ok this is good to hear! The picture posted on the FB group of prices clearly stated it's a 4-pack ... so totally good to hear it's a 6-pack. Sure Monk is on the bit higher price side, but they are definitely not gougers. LOVE MONK!
