Problem with that strategy is that Smog's screw top and Monkish is swing... Damn CA breweries not just doing what a bunch of other states do and filling various containers.

Latest monkish post suggested they now have 2L and 750ml in stock

They fill all growlers. Filled a swing top and screw cap not too long ago.

They had plenty of blank 2L and branded 750ml growlers when I was there earlier this evening

Surprisingly I enjoyed Damfino 2 more than 3, and my favorite hop is Nelson. Also had dreaming of the usual and dankness on tap, and now I know what all the hype is about!
I'm stoked Monkish decided to brew IPA's, man they're doing it right!

Some SD breweries need to take notes

Good to know. For some reason always thought they only filled blank/Monkish swingtops and stainless steel.

Dank Daily is really really good. Plenty flowing when I left just a little while ago.

    Cheers………..

Haven't had any of the Monkish IPAs but a common thing I keep seeing, at least for the can releases, is that they get better if you sit on them for a bit. Can someone clarify how that makes the beer better? Just seems so backwards for fresh IPAs.

You're right it does seem backwards. I dont get the science behind it but they definitely taste better if you sit on them a bit. By better i mean more intense fruit/floral notes and fuller/sweeter body. 1-3 weeks after canning seems optimal, closer to 3 for the double ipas. The fresh hop flavor/aroma is there from the beginning and fades eventually, so its not backwards there.

Most beer/wine goes through "bottle shock" when moved from the fermentation tank to a smaller vessel (keg, can, bottle) so it would make sense that these can that are super fresh get a little better with age.

Kiss the Sky and Same Tree bottle release this Thursday (or right now if you're on the pre-pre-sale list).

You have to have the cap too since they dont' keep them on site. I couldn't fill mine since I tossed the cap.

    Dank Daily is amazing

Yeah, Dank Daily drank really well this weekend (grabbed a growler on Thursday). Hadn't been grabbing growlers of their IPAs regularly, but might have to now.

Damfino 4 now up, no fills. Pretty damn tasty. No more Dank juice for fills.

    Cheers…….

I once heard somewhere about Vinny from RR claiming that three weeks old for Pliny was the sweet spot.

Email went out around 4 p.m. yesterday to the pre-pre-sale people.

They made 900 bottles of each, with a three-bottle limit per beer. So feel like there should be opportunity for folks on Thursday when the wider online sale begins.

I believe Kiss The Sky is 600 bottles. I didnt get a chance to try Same Tree but I did try Kiss the Sky when it was on tap and DAMN it was good.
