Someone questions come to mind about the Halloween-themed merch. Most pressing: who is this for?

That's great news! All those parents who bring their kids to the releases (so they can sit in the car for hours) can now remember those fun times this Halloween with branded Lantern Pails! Fond memories of waking up before the sun rises and then sitting in the car for hours so mom/dad can stand in line for another IPA will now be cherished on Halloween!

Even better as the kid later enjoy all their sweet candy - poured out of a branded Monkish Lantern Paul - as mom/dad enjoy a pastry candy stout from Florida that they acquired for Monkish cans. Bonding!

The special brand of adults who show up to your door with no costume expecting candy. Some of them will bring their infants who can’t even walk yet.

I get a few of those every year.

Maybe because they're rarely brewed, or maybe it's my own bias, but Skull Pin is fantastic. If they brewed this regularly and put it on for fills, it would be a frequent in my fridge

Missed out on this one. Damn.
And I noticed they took my advice and started using Monks instead of Monkish. Haha.

Just visited monkish for the first time and I'd whole heartedly agree. That was a great ipa. Also confirmed that I'm just not that stoked on the hazies. Theirs are certainly pretty clean but nothing I'd go out of my way for

Henry probably doesn't even know he brews some of the best most sought after WCIPAs available, and this one once again confirms this. Man I wish he would put a west coast IPA/DIPA into regular rotation, what he gets out of his hop bill is insane, Skull-Pin is so crushable clean and bone dry with massive hop characteristics.

    Cheers,

For what it's worth, it's on tap (I missed out/didn't care to leave home for cans). I got a growler fill of a hazy while wishing it were Skull Pin

I still believe Monks hazy’s pretty much taste the same. Foggy Windows is my favorite. It’s not the heavy hit your gut hard like most Monk hazy. I’m currently in Seoul and I met with @nerdboy19 and traded 2 Monk cans (and Revision haze cans) for some local Korean hazy and regular ipas. He has had Monk hazy cans from trades in the past and he told me that the ones he’s had are all pretty much taste the same. He did prefer the Revision Va-Da over Bonded In Stainless. Like Bud here I wish Henry would start Brewing and canning more. West coast clear IPA’s. But most of the HazeBros wouldn’t like that. No trade value in clear IPA’s.

Apparently there’s a rather large Asian family that has recently been maxing out allotments at the recent Monkish releases... just saw Adriana confront them about them possibly reselling the cans but not really sure what else they can do without any hard proof

i might be missing something, but is this any different than any of the large group of friends that come to every release and max out to trade/resell already?

Tons of people do this and Monkish doesn't bat an eye. But from what I understand, they were swapping IDs and repurchasing last weekend.

Was on my there for a short period of time but saw plenty of grannies who were clearly gonna go home and crush a bunch of DDH juice bombs.

Brewery trash is everywhere. Impossible to avoid.

Fortunately, this is not 2010. There are enough exemplary brewhouses - Green Cheek, Highland Park, etc. - within easy driving distance to satisfy my IPA fix; including Monkish, where 405/91 whackness eases up enough on Sunday for me to fill a couple of growlers.

So yeah, brewery trash can be found under every rock where hype is king. But there has never been more easily available, excellent IPA to be had. My taste buds are grateful.
