Monkish Brewing (2019)

It was good. Other Half brought some solid beers. Bagel & Schmear was probably my favorite. Very easy drinking. More Citra Than All Citra was a super Citra bomb. Monkish highlights were Same Tree (so freaking good) and Prehistoric B-Boy. Someone brought a 3 Fonteinen magnum and shared it, so that was cool.

In terms of food, it was basically a $60 Bento box. I was telling Jairo this, but I feel like I don't know enough about sushi to really appreciate the food that was served. It was really good, but I think it was lost on me. I easily identified the USDA prime vs A5 Wagyu, and the Wagyu was really good.

For how easily it could have been a shitshow, it went really smooth. I never had to wait more than a couple minutes for beer. The token system they worked really expedited things, I think. They opened up the back of the brewery, so there was plenty of space

It was a cool event. I preferred the Convivium I went to, but this was still worth it

 

Maybe this has been addressed but how does Henry determine the names of the beers released? Does he put random words in a trash bag and pulls at random? Or do they decide to put 0 effort in naming beers because most taste the same in the end. Just a curious thought.

 

Majority of the beer names are lyrics pulled from Rap & Hip Hop songs because they all sound the same.

They have a full beer series featuring variations of citra/mosaic/galaxy with lyrics from Inspectah Deck's verse on Triumph. These are all can releases with the Wu-Tang black and yellow style logo except Flee w/ the Lottery. Might be missing a few though.

This is as good as I was hoping it would be. Such an amazing expression of pure Nelson goodness, and these new Super Bowl glasses to boot !
