Monkish Brewing (2019)

thanks to everyone that passed on Bonita, lol. First time getting one of their ddh TIPAs in cans - really intense and tasty. I am sure it will get better with some time too.

 

doubt people were passing on that one. that's the main reason I went yesterday. Most have already tried Sticky Green, no one has tried Bonita x3

 

For sure - I was just surprised it lasted as long as it did with the small case count and all.

 

Wasn't even planning on picking any Bonita up. But GF checked Twitter while we were eating some of the delicious ghost pepper french fries, and said 10 in line, 18 cases left or something like that. So I just saddled over and picked up a 4.

But it was one pp and at 76 cases that's 456 allotments.

Definitely - did the math after hops mentioned it lol. Still, Increase the Fog had a similar amount/allotment and lasted till around 5:40, so again, just surprised (and thankful haha).

Only if you're up for it, its pretty intense and my ratings are garbo lol. XD

 

your ratings are your own, some people get annoyed with me always giving monkish 4.5o ratings on untappd, but hey that's my personal rating for myself. Monkish is King and the Gold Standard in haze IMO, and if anyone gets upset with that, well then they can go pound sand. lol

 

When I first had this back in 2016 they used Mandarina Bavaria in the recipe. I thought it gave it to much bitter grassiness and a rough drying element. The elimination of that hop and the change to Galaxy in its place made a world of difference. Dank, super juicy and incredibly balanced even at such a young age. Vintage Monkish haze.

It's your palate and that's all that matters. It's what makes searching out fine wine-beer-food etc. worth the journey and sharing your thoughts with others is, IMHO, an important part of that journey. Myopic bitter jealous trolls will say other wise, but thats what the ignore button is for LOL !

Yea, I don't do dairy of any kind so that was an easy pass but I do love me some La Schmoove and this vintage is stellar, go crack one and you'll see just how approachable a super fresh Monkish beer can be.

If anyone out there has trouble getting cans, looks like Foggy might be around pretty late today.

 

Now we're seeing on average two releases a week and much larger batch sizing. This is great if your a Monkish fan who can't do the early afternoon line thing.
