First ever non sell out on first day.
    15 cases at opening today.

If Monkish can crank out Foggy cans on a consistent basis and make it easily available, I'd be a happy camper.

I thought about heading down yesterday but it's a $30+ Uber ride from work in NoHo, so... I did not. I'll settle for my Modern Times pickup today I guess.

Only question is what percent of the monkish releases are traded away, which those persons may be more discerning for new ticks.

I for one am glad production is meeting demand and may start making an effort again to grabbing cans.

Good question Frosty, IMHO I think there could be a " saturation " of world class styles across the country finally setting in and demand is probably tempered down, now this is only a guess as I do not trade, perhaps someone like Hophead could chime in and let us know the demand for Monkish today vs a year ago.

    Cheers,

    I'll respectfully disagree.
I'd say the vast majority of Monkish consumers would not want Foggy released more. It would drive trade value down. That's the "game" these days. Tickers and all that jazz....

Noted, however my position comes from a non-trader"consumer", consumer being the operative word- perspective, completely understand your stance as a trader.

I'm not a trader of Monkish IPA's, never claimed to be and not sure why you made the assumption that I am. The last Monkish IPA I had was Really Real. In November 2017. The last Monkish IPA line I was in was for Red Hop. In October 2017.
    Nice try though.

Maybe because TRADER is under your avatar and your post sounds 100% as someone who completely understands the trade " value " of said beer, which isn't necessarily that big of a leap to conclude that perhaps you've traded it ? Your post comes across very defensively in whether or not you trade Monkish, it's not a bad thing . It also looks like maybe it's time for you to drop back in and drink some of their beers maybe ? I also note that you edited my post taking away the bigger perspective in responding to yours.

    Cheers,

I'm great. Again, never traded Monkish IPA's, but it's not really hard to understand trade value.
It's a bit weird that my opinion has triggered you. All good. No need to fight the crowds. Plus the beer I had in 2017 is going to taste the same as the beer in 2019. Regardless of the name. Have a wonderful day.
    Cheers,

PS. I didn’t edit anything. Why would I include quotes upon quotes in replies? That's just silly. Haha. In fact your post says edited. None of mine do.

so... do the cans of Foggy that get sold today get added value on the secondary market since they'd be the first cans that didn't get sold out on the first day???

    :joy:

Wouldn't it be less $ value on secondary??? These are now shelf turds. Any dude with $20 bucks could have just walked in and purchased, no hype there.

Next thing you know......more expansion...... Monks cans droppin at the local bottle shop......

monkish trade value IMO has fallen off a bit. When I first started trading a year ago, I could usually get 2:1 on my monkish cans, its seems now it's more $4$ (Money for Money). Electric also doesn't help monkish traders either because now people are asking for them more and more everyday. Monkish still holds the highest sought after HAZE in the trading game, but it's not the same as before.

Maybe they’ll put a “day 2” sticker on the last few 4 packs

    This outstanding!

Anyway, I'm fairly new here, and new to SoCal. My first Monkish release was Foggiest Window back in October and now I'm kind of hooked. Wish I could make it more often, but I'll take what I can get. I hadn't found many IPAs out here that really compared with the top northeast beers I'd had...but Monkish is awesome. Look forward to interacting with you all
