Monkish Brewing (2021)

After 4PM you can hang out and/or grab beer to go. Before 4PM you can only get beers to go.

 

I did a quickie to go drive in&out to Monks last night 835 around there. Looked like outside was full. I dig the outside atmosphere. Maybe add some lighting? No brite lites. Just Atmospheric lites above. Maybe I’m old?

 

Yo! So was Monkish Anaheim just a super elaborate April Fools joke or are we still crossing our fingers that it will be a reality?! I haven't seen any updates from the Monkish team, wondering if anyone here has some insider information.

 

100% still happening. Construction inside the tap room as of last week.
ABC change of ownership posted on the window.
September-October was the latest time frame I heard.

Monkish non-hazy report: Copper Flakes is delightful. Henry apparently wanted it to be more malty (almost like an amber), but it's still pretty good

 

Does anyone know if walk-up only is just for cans & bottles, or are growler fills also possible? Thanks!

 

I read that growlers fills were not an option currently.

You can get growlers during walk up. The to-go menu lists the growler options.

Monk closes at 10pm tonight. What time do they stop selling cans to go? Leaving lax at 915pm. I should be there between 935-940pm.

 

Anyone heard any updates on the new Anaheim location? They said summer 2021, here we are in the fall now and it seems like it’s been radio silence.

Their insta suggests it should be for sale like any other beer, but I'm not seeing it on their site. Just me?

YUP! Snagged two 4pks of that and some other stuff. Can't go wrong with a mosaic-forward westy. Already had one last night--it was light, crisp (for an IPA), and delicious. Good stuff!

 

Hearing monkish cancelled anaheim location. Just a rumor though so don’t take it as gospel.
