Meanwhile, back to the beer, this is insanely good, hundreds can thank the rain for this lasting so long, I was @ Monkish for a meeting with E and Andrea and just luckily walked into a can release, and a OH Monkish collab to boot,my lucky day I guess.

    Cheers,

David, I completely appreciate and respect your views as fellow lovers of all things hoppy, but I beg to differ on your statement that there are local breweries putting out better quality hoppy beers than Monkish, but if you are generically referring to ALL hoppy beers then yes, your on track with your statement because locally we do have BW,MT,HPB etc etc. However if your saying there are better quality NE styled IPAs/DIPAs locally may I ask you who you think brews them better than Monkish ? I have had basically every NE styled beer made locally and while some have been good to excellent, the day to day consistency and quality doesn't equal that Of Monkishs' IMHO. These days its not hard at all to get your fill of Monkish beers if you dont mind growlers and most of the beers they brew for can releases eventually wind up as growler fills sooner than later.

Have a great trip, we still need to hook up at BW for a few pints of hops.

    Cheers,

HPB makes more interesting (and often better) hoppy beers in my opinion. Monkish is good but all their shit is the same.

I agree with HPB putting out consistently good beers with plenty of variety. I’ll also add modern times hazy IPAs to the list of being on par, if not better, than monkish.

Love HPB, but I'm talking NE styled only, and IMHO, and Ive had pretty much close to everything they've done in that style ( HPB) they are not as good, again just my opinion. I wish Monkish would do some true WCIPs though like HPB.

I’m sure this is a long shot, but any chance anyone is willing to part with a gold or silver stemless monkish glass? I.e. The glasses from the Triple G / On The 6 releases

This forum really needs to split into two. One forum can be for announcements of upcoming releases and events, which is why I come to this forum. This theme may have been the original intention of this particular forum.
The other forum can be reserved for everyone's "I'm not waiting in line for that" or "I'm not spending money on that" comments. At every release Henry posts how many people are in line, which is helpful. I don't need to hear that someone doesn't intend to wait in line, because the reality is that although hundreds of people do come down every release, most of the LA population does not.
Monkish had an event and charged $100 a ticket. The event sold out way quicker than it took for all the people who did not want to spend $1000 to drink beer to post in this forum. If Monkish does another event next year it will sell out just as fast no matter how many times someone chooses to post that he won't spend the money.
So maybe two forums is the way to go.

Isn't this what their Instagram is for? The forum is for discussing their beer/brewery.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion dude, I agree. I didn't even try for tickets to this event but, luckily a buddy had an extra. But when it's the same people voicing their same negative opinion about the same brewery, it just seems like hate to me.

Maybe I’m off on this but these specific brewery threads are about all aspects of a brewery - the good, the bad and the ugly.
Person #1 bitches about Monkish lines.
Person #2 is a Monkish fan boy.
You’re saying they need to voice their opinions in different threads?

I’m talk hoppy beers in general. I’m not into hazy only beers. I haven’t had anything Monks in a year and half. But I do really enjoy Rev haz. I also think MT haz is great. Maybe it’s unfair for me to say those are better than Monks since I haven’t had their stuff in over a year. Like OffSh!te crap which I gave them 6+ months I did the same for Monks cans the 1st 6+ months. For me it wasn’t worth the trouble. Even stopping in for growlers. They all tasted similar batch after batch. But that me and my palate. Plus I’m not all about the haz craz. I prefer my wcipa over anything else. I don’t need Monks haz. I can easily aquire MT, Rev and maybe a BWest haz easily. I respect your thoughts on Monks stuff. We can talk more on this over a beer soon for sure.

C'mon, we've been good lately, and kept stroller complaining to a minimum.

Then again, that may be a coincidence, until summer, since all the kids are at school...

speaking of Monkish, does anyone else get like little boogers in their cans? They look NASTY, this is like the 3rd Monkish can were I've noticed it. I've only seen this in Monkish Beers, but than again I pretty much only drink Monkish beers(Braggin Here Yall:sunglasses:)Is that normal in canned Hazy Beers, little boogers!?

Honestly? Hit up the Monkish Trading Forum on FB. Glassware for days on there. Just be prepared. It's usually glass for glass trades or glass + beers for a glass type deals.

I think it was discussed in one of the bottle logic threads. If I remember correctly (and if your boogers are the same thing as BL), it's a byproduct of fermentation and is usually an indicator that the can/bottle containing the booger was probably the last can/bottle to be filled from that fermentation vessel (aka you got the ass end of the brew). They usually keep an eye out for it but sometimes it gets missed. You should be good if you just scoop it out and drink there's of the beer.
