Never had the chance to try the OG Nelson but this is hands down my favorite Monkish release (can or growler). Can't wait to dive into the Pilsner next

From someone who basically drank the OG Alpine Nelson from the day it was released to that very sad last day the OG 22 oz bomber rolled off the line I think I can safely say that this is the best Nelson beer I've ever had, and without a doubt, my favorite Monkish beer ever. I hope that we see more of this again. I loved it from growler and drank quite a few of them, but from the can it's so much more explosive, both aromatically and flavor wise.

    Cheers,

To date, the best 100% Nelson IPA IMHO. I was told that Pre-Historic would be the 1st of the 100% Nelson beers to be canned but for whatever reason Henry decided to go DIPA, and I am not complaining ! Hope we see Pre-Historic in cans at some time.

    Cheers,

If you're local to SD Burgeon just put out Nelson Takes Flight. Pretty solid at 7%. Never been a big fan of them but thought I'd give em another shot since they're on my route home from work.

Cracked open a Relaxist last night and I must say, Monkish makes a great pilsner. What makes it an Italian pilsner? IDK, but keep them coming. Pilsner are great when you don't wanna be chugging HAZE all teh time:stuck_out_tongue:

The brewers wore the stereotypical Italian pizza chef hat when mashing in.

So I guess Monkish is finished doing Eventbrite sales for their saison and sour bottles?

Eventbrite did just increase their fees not all that long ago, so I would be excited if more bottle releases started to go towards a different online ticketing vendor or eventually inhouse. Both have their positives and negatives though.

Including today’s release, I believe the last two or three have been at the brewery only. Last one I saw from Eventbrite was Drip With Sunset back in May. Good for locals but sucks for me because the Eventbrite pickup dates usually coincided within the timeframes I was down in Southern CA.

Monkish noob here, just today tried recent cans of ‘Galactic rhyme...’ and ‘swap meets’. I found ‘Galactic’ vegetal, almost like celery toward the finish. Swap meets was very sweet, almost cloying. I saw a couple similar notes on untappd but my main question is:

Do all monkish cans need time to sit before opening? Are there general understandings of a ‘sweet spot’ time frame?

Really just curious. My palate is by no means outstanding but I cannot imagine ppl drinking the same cans I did and rating either more than 4/5

    IPA? Usually good to go.

DIPA? Usually wait a week or two.

TIPA? I've had some sit for three months and I thought it held up well.

Hard pass on the space cookie line. Glad foggy is back so soon though. Wonder if foggier will be the other release this week, as I missed out on the last batch of cans, lol.
