Monkish Brewing (June 2017)

|| APOCOLOCYNPOSIS || A barrel aged farmhouse ale with blackberry and lime, was brewed in collaboration with our friends at Jolly Pumpkin. Our version has a higher concentration of fruit character and a deeper blackberry hue. 4.6% ABV (750ml corked & caged champagne-style bottles). 1000 bottles. Limit 2 bottles per person.

 

In for two per usual.

 

Kept myself to one due to a hefty month of Bruery purchases and an inbound full box of Cellador stuff. But very excited to give this one a shot.

 

Welp, to whoever asked which brewery has hit the high note on beer sales it looks like monkish finally hit the $24 mark for a 4 pack. Sure it's a triple dry hopped double but still.. Eeeesh

Damn poor kids, probably wish they were at the park.

 

I think this was asked in a previous month's thread, but I can't seem to find it. Do you usually have to be at Monkish before they open to have a shot at cans? Any chance of grabbing cans an hour or two after they open today (also wondering if it might be different with the Tuesday release)?

Also, how long does a beer like Beyond Atomically usually last on tap? Should it last through their open hours today or do things like this commode quickly?

both cans looks like quite a bump up in qty of cases so you should be ok an hour or two after they open (i think)

 

Based on that, think it will also last on tap through close today?

 

Suddenly I'm reminded of all those comedy sketches about 100-blade razors.

 

Trading these ipa can releases for today and those FT seem to be getting out of hand.. Or a win win I suppose..

 

haze fools always think they can get crazy stuff for essentially ticking time bomb ipa's. It's the whole notion of razzles that inflate their sense of value.

 

I got two jam the radar for two 4 packs of foggy window. Haze Broz can't resist dat haze

Don't forget the PP group probably took about 1/3rd of that.

 

PP is probably hovering around 75 people. It's not as huge as some folks think it is.

 

Yeah, they've had much lower bottle counts with two-bottle limits for PP, and there was still a (very brief) public sale afterward. 65-75 is probably the right number.
