Need advice ahead of a visit next month:

Not looking to get cans or anything to go, just would like to try what they have available, and will be there on a Friday. What's the taproom like in the afternoon/around open typically? Are there consensus times that is quieter than others? I've seen notifications that say not to park in the lot before 4 on weekdays, so where would one park when they open at 1? Looks like there's food trucks often, so I assume it's cool to bring your own food in?

If you're visiting, and it's not a can release, it'll be nice and cozy on a Friday. Park on the street, and take a small walk.

And yes, bring your own food. I like Fantastic's if I really want to go grease. Or even takoyaki at the nearby Japanese market...and have Santouka on the way out.

Wow this pilsner blew my mind. Thought It would have sold out quick since there was only 85cases. Glad I picked up Full Allotment. Guess my fellow HazeBroz weren't filling it.

Haze Bros never feel it haha. Saw a few comments saying it should have been a double IPA drop

Thanks! Also, how far in advance do they announce can releases, always day of? Actually looking to avoid that whole mess.

Maybe I have been breaking the rules with everyone, but I always park in the lot on Friday’s before 4. There is normally like 5 people there at opening when it’s not a can release. I thought the not parking in the lot was a can release thing.

About an hour before, so there is no way to avoid it.

Yup. That being said, it's a lot more "calm" now. Just sidle up to the tasting room. The releases are usually in the back. It's more that parking will be even more arduous.

Monkish RARELY releases cans on Fridays ... extremely high probability that there will NOT be a can release on the Friday you visit.

Outside of can releases, weekday afternoons are super chill, especially at opening. Parking ... if you want to avoid the Monkish lot, street park on Del Amo Blvd, W. 205th Street or Gramercy Pl (google map it, it's very straightforward). Food ... yes, bring your own. Also, consider checking out Smog City if you have time ... it is walking distance from Monkish on Del Amo Blvd.

And trek to Beachwood in Long Beach. There's Phantom Carriage on the way as well.

Going to be traveling to LA from Florida at the end of September. Picking up a rental car at LAX and planning on heading towards monkish as the first stop.

We are traveling to LA pretty much for the food and beer. We obviously found the best beer in the area so now we are trying to find a good lunch spot somewhere between LAX and monkish. Looking for any suggestions....any must hit lunch spots on the way or nearby? We dont mind driving.
