Oh nice, any idea how much was left? Did you get to try it yet?

Edit: Nvm, not going to bother driving up, I'll go to the next one. Hopefully it was tasty.

Seeing people jump back in line 3 or 4 times while sipping on Run the Pigeon is pretty funny.

and it's funny how Monkish took pride in not offering any IPAs as of a year or so ago.

    Who cares. It's great beer.

Monkish is a class act. The people Henry, Brian & the whole crew are killing it! They know how to make world class beers and I'm not going to shame them for that. That's not cookie cutter, that's called making beers that they enjoy to create. We should be so privileged to have such a great brewery crafting styles that our regionally out of reach....

Monkish do be makin' some hotness so whatevs. But the whole TLDR blog about how they used to frown on IPAs and are now on the haze bandwagon was kinda funny.

Obligatory 'it's a business, not a charity.' They don't run off donations.

Run the Pigeon is a great brew, I'm glad I got to try it on tap today. Looking forward to their DIPA release and more barrel aged stuff.

Last I checked, Monkish is still brewing all the beers they used to brew and are not forcing anyone to exclusively drink their trendy new sours and IPA's. Why is this even a talking point?

They now have a wider variety of beers than they had before. Drink what you like and stop scoffing at the business model.

Brewers are just like any other creative individual --they eventually get bored of making the same shit over and over. In other words, they evolve. It's silly to expect Brewers to stay within the confines of a box placed by some random curmudgeon.

I used to hate Monkish... I'm just not a big fan of the belgian banana coriander stuff. Now they make other beers and I really like them. Different strokes for different folks.

A company that sees an underserved market ("NE style" IPAs) and capitalizes on it doesn't seem conformist to me. Just good old American capitalism... If the beer is good, I'll drink it. I mean, I can see the thought to poop on them for making IPAs (assuming every other brewery in SoCal does) But what they are pumping out is different than anything anyone else in the area is making...
