Had 4 of those Run the Pigeons on Friday night... pretty damn blown away with that smooth deep hoppy haze

I know they took it down but I wonder what they're going to do with the MSG/IPA sign now.

Glad to finally get to hang out there. Last two times we tried the line was too big. Lovely beers and cool back space. Have to say we encountered one of the most dickish beerbros behind the counter though. Hopefully he was just having a bad day. No biggie. Other cheek and all that

i love Monkish but not a fan of the token system, which equals going back and waiting in line more times, as opposed to ordering a bunch of tasters at once

yea hate that.. same issue at Good Beer. guess it's their way of encouraging full pours. I prefer those but sometimes it's not time for 3 full pours. Usually splitting them with people though so no biggie.

I hate the token/one taster at a time system because of that but I also like it because then I don't end up with warm beer? Or at the very least beer that's not meant to be warmed up?

    Shit show....LOL

Most people who were in line left after getting their cans and probably didn't even try the beer on tap. I skipped the line, grabbed a pour and sat down with some friends then waited until the line died down to get my 4-pack of goodness. Around 1:30pm the place was nice and mellow. One of the easiest releases I've been to.

One short story - when I got into the line at around 12:40 there were 4-5 people. I started talking to the guy in front of me and we noticed that there weren't many cans left. Well, after I paid for mine I went back to where I was sitting. Apparently the guy had been able to purchase (4) 4-packs and realized later that he might have bought out the last of the cans since he was in front of me, so he came and found me to make sure I had gotten some. I really appreciated the gesture. If you're on this thread, cheers to you! It's not always bad things that happen at releases.

I opened a can last night and I have to say it was much better out of the can than on draft and unlike someone posted above, I personally preferred Run the Pigeon to FtF. I'm all in on Monkish.

    that's awesome.

for those of you who have had some of the cloudy North East IPAs that cathcy loves, how have these beers compared?

I've been fortunate to try a lot of NE IPAs and I have to say that Run the Pigeon is definitely in the realm of that style. Not quite all the way there but it definitely could be mistaken in a blind tasting. On looks alone it's spot on, but as I've said before I don't give a shit about the look. I'm after that juicy tasting, tropical fruit esters with a smooth and balanced bitterness profile and Run the Pigeon satisfied that.

Had an Off the Record at City Tavern in DTLA (surprised they had it). Pretty good. Nice little mix of east coast juicy with the west coast bite at the end. Not quite as soft and accessible as FTF

Yes I believe at noon again. Love the name Foggy Windows lol. Being a double IPA may cause a bit more hype. Plus the batch size isn't any bigger yet, so don't wanna be late.
