Love Monkish, and happy to drink the beer on tap. But the line's gone too far at this point to participate in that nonsense. Though would assume many folks (self included) that would normally attend end up sitting this one out due to the Bruery shindig in Anaheim -- so maybe crowd is thinned out for those that decide to go?

Foggy Window was pretty good fresh...to me, it smelled better than it tasted. After 2 weeks in the can, though, it was as good as anything I've had from East Coast. My Trillium trading partner says the same thing about Trillium and Treehouse -- 2-3 after bottling or canning is the sweet spot. I have not found this to be true of the west coast IPAs. Just something to think about.

i find this to be true as well. though i don't usually deliberately wait to open something, i do find that a bit of time is usually a good thing, when you're getting stuff on day 1. same thing happened for me with recent cans of Hello LA and Booming Rollers. fresh they were delicious, but after a few weeks they were incredible

yeah Monkish needs to change their tasting room setup. its offensive to me as a beer geek and business man.

they could do a few small things to help the issue - like take out the tables in the area where you purchase beer and add another pos there. with the extra space there can be two lines and cut the wait in half. easy as.

I prefer to go during the week and sit at the bar top area

For about 2 hours during a can release (so far) they've needed a bigger tasting room/more pourers but the rest of the time/days it's the perfect size. Not sure why they would need to make a big change for that.

see my post on all they have to do to cut line time in half. not a big change at all.

    IG confirms: 2 can releases this Sat @ 12pm. I'm going to guess a IPA/DIPA + a re-do of a session?

As someone else said, this will be interesting with the Bruery party letting HS in at noon and RS in at 1pm...

It was the release before that (Pigeon) where multiple events were going on - and there was actually a much smaller line compared to Foggy Window. I imagine The Bruery anniversary will pull some people away, although the Monkish IPA hype train is full speed and I doubt it will be significantly less than Foggy if at all. Maybe less people arriving as early with the same amount overall by 12? I'm one of the poor few who will be at The Bruery, and not happy that I'll miss this double release.

I think you're correct now that you mention that. That said I'll do a pass by round 11:30 and if reasonable I'll wait it out. Otherwise I'll skip it.

9AM sounds about right for the last release, but they're doing a bigger batch size this time so hopefully it lasts a lot longer.

I was there at 11:10 and was probably one of the last 15-20 people who got cans.
First person in line got there at 9.
Like someone said above. If you aren't in line by 11:30 don't bother.
