Saw somebody sell their wristband for $100.

My first and last lineup, I vote for BPT with a 72 hour pickup window.

I was gonna go but decided to buy groceries instead. I'll buy these IPAs when and if they release them via BPT/EB.

Do Monkish a favor and let the product speak for itself.

More reasons why I want to cut back on limited/brewery releases. Getting way to absurd now. People lining up 2-3hrs prior, Now people are going just to sell their allocations or sell for profit, pretty pathetic.

I wonder how difficult that would be for Monkish though. Can they really set everything up in such short amount of time. Is their someone doing that know.?

Bruery had "parting clouds" at the anniversary event. These "vermont style" IPAs will be made by all your favorite breweries soon.

Definitely hope they do BPT or Eventbrite for the next release. The no proxies, week-long pickup window for Leche Borracho that BL is doing seems to be working well. Took under 2 minutes to pick up bottles yesterday.

Really? Has Julian brewed any east coast style IPA's? If not, will he?

Had both last night. Solid beers but I wouldn't wait 3-4 hours in line for.

Wait, so now Monkish needs to hold inventory and take up precious storage space for IPA cans because beer nerds can't handle a simple beer release?

Oh and in case anyone forgot, Monkish makes other beers. There should be some nice bottles coming out soon.

If I can't order it on my phone, I don't want anything to do with it... DUH!

I think these releases have been handled as well as possible. With the wristband addition, they are obviously learning from each release. I'm usually in bed or on the couch most Saturday mornings. Getting out of Monkish by 1P once or twice a month with cans doesn't bother my Saturday much. I'm not the only degenerate there...

There's no reason to have to deal with BPT and the potential nickle and dime fees and then storage space in an already small space for beer folks to have a week to pick up a can beer that potentially has a short shelf life.

The releases have been handled amazingly and it's only the folks to blame for how early they have been creating a line based on this notion that they can flip it. The real solution there is to not encourage that sort of market to begin with. If no one would pay 100 bucks for a wristband, no one would be able to sell one.

Stop trading your beers away in hopes to enjoy some grass that you think is greener. You got a fresh can now, why bother trading it for a lateral move at best in shipping beer across the country?

The unscrupulous behavior is a byproduct of the high demand, which is in part fueled by a first-come first-served system. There are effects generated by these lines beyond the loss of time. People become desperate in their pursuits of a high-demand item so when they fail, they resort to paying high prices in the secondary market. Of course there's never any shortage of unsavory individuals willing to supply this demand. Look at Stub Hub and you'll see for yourself that this exists in other industries. If folks want to discourage this behavior, the first step really would be to opt of waiting in lines, but that would mean not getting beer and we all know how tragic that is.

As for BPT, make the pick-up window 24 hours and raise the price to account for fees. I'll pay extra money if I can avoid a line. At the airport, you can potentially wait in line for hours at the security checkpoint, possibly missing your flight if you didn't arrive early enough, but if you pay a fee, you get to bypass the line. Of course I'd prefer it if I didn't have to come to that, but that's the way things go.

As often as they do these releases I don't really feel too bad if I miss out. Especially since they all seem pretty solid.
