I got here at 6:50 and was 25th in line lol. Definitely pushing the limits for me. Seems like people are respecting Henry's request to not drink in line for the most part. Most are now just drinking byou their cars lol. Tailgate style!!!

So those tailgaters will become the line cutters?

Most of the tailgaters are the ones who got here at 5:30 this morning and are in the front of the line

Glad I know what my time is worth - and not camping out at 5 AM for IPA. Last time for me.

So the line is going to balloon up towards closer to the start when the tailgaters get their drink on. Hope they don't have the key in the ignition.

Any line cutting going on? Where's the Line/Alcohol Police? I will wait for the next HpB can release. Much more better...line wise & beer wise. Not that there's anything wrong with Monkish's IPAs. I love the west the best. I hope it's better than the last few times in the lot.

I hope Monkish starts doing this another way. Love the beer, but I'm not willing to compete with the trading hoards, or is it hoarding traders. Even though I've only been selected once for the Citra lottery I still think that's the best way to tame these silly lines.

Most people in line will end up with full allocation, so not too bad afterall. Lots of people who think they're very smart by drinking in vehicles or "hiding" glasses in Starbucks cups.

How about those who arrive after 10m (250+ ppl)? So to take a chance in line for 2 hours. The single will last longer than the double. So maybe there will be some lucky ones who will still walk away with a 4 pack or so.
It's so nice to sit on my lazy boy recliner still in my pj's drinking coffee and watching UEFA Euro Cup Wales vs Slovakia.

The lottery is possibly best for something that gets release annualy - quaterly. I cant see the lottery working for something that has a biweekly release.

I was actually gonna swing by at about 9:40ish after running some errands over that side of town.. thank god I didn't go. They sell that "ipa beer" other places too right...like is it hard to find hoppy beers in california? When hype transcends the actual beer. When the outside of the can is more important than the actual product.

Have they been saying case counts each time? Curious if the demand is truly higher or the same groups of people are just lining up earlier and earlier. Based on being able to walk in and buy 4 packs with no line last week at 3pm (Spock It only), it just makes me wonder.

Spock It was fantastic though... Don't see them worrying too much about this line nonsense since it's super easy on them as sellers. If you don't like it then don't go.

they do case counts each week.

This batch is much smaller than spock it and Supadupafly, which both didn't sell out till later. 175/165 and the single IPA this time is 110.

Gotta create smaller batches so it'll sell out quicker for more hype!! :grinning:

i'm working today so i wouldn't be able to go anyway, but i'll probably never go to one again. my time is worth too much to me. i'm willing to wait a bit, but this is ridiculous. for me i'd say hour and a half / 2 hours is my cut off that i'm willing to wait

guess i'll just be trying these on tap from now on

Alpine's system for filling growlers during a shitstorm release at the old tasting room was mighty woeful.

To be honest, Expo or any of these beers aren't worth waiting that amount in line. I think it's probably caused by folks realizing they could laterally trade for the real east coast shit now with this trade ammo and I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of these cans sold are going to the local fedex drop off come this afternoon for dat dank freshness of a week old beer, brah!

Essentially something is going to have to give or some changes will be made in the future as this keeps getting out of hand.
