Monkish Brewing

I've definitely noticed this. Tastes like cantaloupe. Really good.

 

It reminded me of First Things First and maybe One Life One Love. I haven't had any of the more recent releases. Are they vastly different now?

 

I got the most melon out of Sticky Green and Bad Traffic....and it was danky melon. So damn good! Alongside Spock It, my two favorites by far.

 

I think a week before should be the sale.
1 day pickup window on the next Saturday(everybody shows up anyway for the line haha)
Same money made + Same day for the bottles = No hastle with lines

 

Except when 50 people email monkish asking for an exception to the one day window.

In other news, having an Atomically (2 weeks after canning) and it's starting to really shine. This may turn into one of my favorites so far.

 

No exceptions policy would hopefully fix that

I agree, the Monkish cans really start to pop around 2 weeks +. Having a IdontwanttoBU from Veil right now and it's reminding me a lot of how Supa Dupa Fly tasted with around 2-3 weeks on it - juice!

 

Then you have the problem that there's product that was paid for that wasn't picked up. Creates a sticky situation that, yeah, they could just sell it there and be done with it, but it potentially puts them in an awkward situation.

 

So how many people are in line?

 

Not me. It's 5am here in Hilo. Wide awake. Starving waiting for Hawaiian Style Cafe to open fot breakfast. To early to open one of my bottles/cans. Better here than there.

 

No clue, but I see the line for people to brag that they're not at the release has started. Lol.

 

Um... you do realize there are many breweries, including Monkish, are doing online bottle sales and pickup windows with no exceptions? You don't make it by the window, you forfeit bottles and they resell. I couldn't make it to HPB and forfeited a $14 bottle of Athletic Susan, oh well. Same goes for people lucky enough to get fruit cart, if they don't make it by the pickup window, it's forfeit.

 

In other news... I hear Fruit Cart bottles for on-premises consumption, wonder how long this will last as I missed out online.

Monkish line not too bad today. As of 10 minutes ago, if you came then would still get full allotment. They didn't even get through all the wristbands when they were passing them out.

 

I think if you showed up now you may get beer. I figured I counted about 240 in line at 10am

 

so how is this ipa tasting?

 

IPA is legit! Really smooth.

 

To be fair, most people on untappd are unaware that you can rate a beer below 4.

 

It's always a joy to check out Instagram during a release to see all the people lining up at 4 in the morning and having bottle shares while waiting.
