Seeing mixed reviews on Fly Banjo. Also seeing mixed info on the hops used. IG post says Citra + Galaxy but Untappd check ins and pics of the sign at the brewery say Citra + Amarillo. Anyone have any intel?

Monkish always brings teh heat. I'm guessing Fly Banjo will be no different. Had Socrates & Really Real last night and they were tasty AF. Socrates is only getting better with time.

Huh. Even Monkish can no longer keep track of which recipe with their 4/5 repeating hop varietals is which.

One of most uniquely hoppy juice bombs I've had from the Monkish crew. For those in the " all these kinda beers taste the same camp " well............yea this tastes just like everything else, don't buy it, just wait for the next can release.

    Cheers,

An owl has taken residence in the brewery. What should it be named?

i just happen to be 15 minutes away from Monkish today and tomorrow on a work trip. their tap room is open 4-9pm, no can releases or anything, but is it crazy down there still? i've never been. thanks in advance to anyone who can provide some intel!

you'll be fine on a weekday night. the wait may be a few mins but you should be able to find a place to sit or stand, and enjoy

Taproom is pretty dead on non-can release days, but the place is TINY, smallest brewery I've ever been to. So even a dozen or so people feels crowded.

You know, there is a much bigger area behind the taproom that probably Fits another 60 or so people

I'm aware of it. Put 60 people in there and it's like a sardine can. Not saying it can't be done, but good luck being comfortable. More than 15-20 people in there is too much in my opinion, but maybe that's just me. I like to be able to grab a seat with my wife and relax when I hit a brewery, not stand around shoulder to shoulder power chugging my drinks.

I went one time so take this with a giant grain of salt. But I went at 4pm on a Saturday of a Dodger game. My buddy and I waited a minimal amount of time for pours and growlers and walked right into the back and grabbed 2 chairs at a barrel. It was full and lively in there but it wasn’t problematic for us.

Yeah, basic rule is avoid can release days and nights, and you should be fine. Was just talking about how small the place is in general, and on can release days it gets down right chaotic in there.

It’s by no means a large place, but noble and Casa Agria are probably about the same size, and those are breweries that easily come to mind.
