Are their can releases predominantly on weekdays or does it vary?

Headed out that way next weekend on vacation and just want to go to the brewery and try some of their beers without having to stand in a long line to do so.

ALL RANDOM, Check their website and go under RELEASES & it should give you any idea of how many RELEASES they are doing that week, wont give you the day but at least you'll know what the odds are.

How's the new vocabulary beer? Better or worse than prior releases? I'm curious about the heavy wheat addition.

    Any info is appreciated.

    Thanks!

Nice! Same thing happened to me my first visit, well 7 behind the last purchase, and I was able to waltz up a few weeks later with no problem. Met some really nice people in line too.

Limiting allocations to 2 4 packs is the way to go, maybe even 1 but that's a pipe dream. I feel like they pride themselves a bit in the quick sellouts and anything going to day 2 would be problematic for the hype. Their website even states that they have sold out Day 1 100% of the time.

Anyway, the beer is great, just wish they would move to online. Cheers!

One 4-pack would just be terrible, unless you live right next door. 2pp is the sweet spot where the cans last and everyone gets a satisfactory number of cans for their time invested; though I really would have preferred 3pp today haha.

One 4-pack would greatly increase the likelihood of anyone who wanted the beer getting some. I understand that it won't happen but that's what I'd like to see. I think where I differentiate in opinions is seeing the time aspect. Higher allocations means there's a chance I strike out completely, one 4 pack means there's a good chance I get to try the beer. I'm not looking for maximum allotments, a 4 pack is plenty given the frequency of releases.

Different strokes for different folks. I still think the idea of not selling out day 1 is a legitimate fear for monkish hype. Cheers!

I fee like the frequency and variety of hoppy growler fills is enough to take care of people when they can't make it to a release. I wouldn't even consider dealing with the hassle of a release for one four pack (unless it's Jfk 2 lax lol)

I prefer the 3PP limits. I live in Anaheim, about 25 miles from Monkish. Getting out to Monkish, waiting in line, and heading back after 5PM in LA traffic turns the whole thing into a 3-hour round trip clusterfuck. If I'm gonna be making that trip, it better be for at least 3 packs of beer. I don't hoard or sell, as I can barely make it out to Monkish as it is, and 3 4-packs last me about a month which is about the time-frame that I can make trips out there.

Now that being said, of course there are hazebros and resellers fucking it up for everyone else, but that's not Monkish's fault, and considering a ton of breweries have case-limits for their releases, I would say that even at 3 packs, Monkish is still very conservative in their allocations. These 3PP limit releases also seem to be rare in the past few months, most of them are 2PP, so no need to get too worried about it. Yesterday's release was a 2PP limit with the same amount of cases as the one the day before it, for example. They feel out the crowd and base the allocations on that.

Any insiders/regulars know of any plans to expand can production at some point? Case limits have hovered around the same amount and they typically do one release.

I know they offer growler fills of new beers more regularly but with them selling out of cans so quickly, I'm surprised they don't produce more or have another tap room set up by now with all that cash.

But there will be no more hype if they increase production and don't sell out quickly... the hazebros won't be able to pay rent anymore

Fair enough, although selfishly I hope they change their minds so their beer is easier to obtain for drinking instead of trading/selling.

Guess there is always hope though, they did have a no IPA sign in their brewery at one point and money sure does talk.

Finally finally got in on a Monkish can release!! They only had two cases left when I got there. Bought my two 4 packs and hopped right back onto the 405

Their new strong dark ale, Ciel Noir, is fucking delicious. Easily one of their best Belgian offerings in quite a while. Itchiban is pretty good, too. It's basically a super hoppy Belgian blonde (west coast Belgian IPA?)
