    Lost Abbey 24 Steps Release

"To celebrate our twenty years in business (1997-2017), Monk's co-owner Tom Peters has been traveling the world to brew and blend special anniversary beers with our dearest friends. We are thrilled and honored to release 24 Steps, our collaboration with Tomme Arthur of The Lost Abbey in San Marcos, California. This special cuvee is a blend of several different barrels from Lost Abbey's 500 barrel-plus cellar. Polished oak notes, softly tart, earthy and effervescent, this never-to-be-repeated blend is ready to enjoy now, or lay down for years in your collection."

"We will be releasing bottles at $50 each (plus tax) to enjoy on-site, or to-go. Limit of 6 bottles per person, per PA volume laws. We are super excited to host brewer Tomme Arthur for this special event. He'll share the story of 24 Steps and inside info on the blending process. Join us to toast friendship, collaboration, and twenty years of Monk's Cafe."

DDG and CCK were around $40; the price tag on the cuvee blend shouldn’t be too surprising

Plus the expense of getting there.

Considering the obscenity that is the price for a bottle of Red Poppy, this ain't anywhere near the worst, especially when you consider how brewery one-offs for specific bars tend to appreciate in value.

Also, the label art is fantastic

I was just thinking the same thing after reading about various one offs from Cantillon for bars across Europe.

i hope they save a bunch for on premise.. i might drop the coin on one if i visited and split with a friend but don't really have a desire to take one home... hopefully they save a larger % for on premise vs to go

also.. if they do save for on premise, it'll be nice if when you ask for it they say they have it instead of seeing somebody else enjoy it a week after your visit

I didn't say that it adds value. I just like it.

I love the label as well, but there is no way I'd pay $50 for one bottle of this!

24 Steps is debuting on draft, alongside of a ridiculous lineup, for the Sonoma Pride Fundraiser event
