I received notice of an upcoming beer dinner at Monk's Cafe. Apparently tickets go on sale soon. Does anyone know if these will be available for purchase online? Hoping someone out there might either be affiliated with Monk's, or perhaps possibly just a frequent customer who is "in the know." Tried to get to the Monk's website, but it appears to be down. If anyone can get me details, I would greatly appreciate it! My wife is planning to buy tickets for my birthday, but we don't want to reserve a hotel until we're sure we can get tickets!

    Cheers,
    Kenny

available in person at monks cafe when tickets go on sale
or get tickets over the phone when tickets go on sale (probably need to give credit card info for this)
i know the dinner you speak of, these tickets will sell out quick
the website may be down, because they are updating it, keep your eyes peeled sharp.

Gotta go to the bar itself on Monday morning, they haven't done online sales in the past.

Thanks a ton. So you are certain that they are going to sell over the phone? If so, I will call them first thing Monday morning.

I would, but I'm heading out of town this weekend and won't be able to make the date anyway.

They said "well have special beers on tap" that morning.. As a way to "double down"

Well, thanks anyway. I really appreciate it. If only I could drive to Philly on Monday morning to get the tickets (and the special beers!). I am really hoping someone out there can help. If you know of anyone who might be able to help, please send them my way. Thanks!

They typically only sell over the phone once everyone in line monday morning is taken care of.

Makes sense. So, in this case, I'm guessing there's a good chance tickets will sell out before I'm given the opportunity to purchase over the phone. Planning to call them this morning for any details they can provide.

Is there any information on the tap list available yet, or is it just a safe bet that it will be excellent?

I love Tomme Arthur. His beers are inventive, richly developed and definitely come from his soul.
Tomme said that Vince might also be coming out for this dinner. Vince and his sister own the brewery. über cool guy, too.

We'll have some of Tomme's most sought after beers, some of my favorites, and some of Tomme's favorites, all paired with an equally inventive menu. I'm already excited about this dinner.

Here is what Tomme wants to send out for the dinner:

    Cuvée de Tomme (approx 11%abv)

brown ale made with barley, raisins, candi sugar & sour cherries.

ages in used bourbon barrels w/the sour cherries for at least one year

Tomme adds Brettanomyces to those barrels for the secondary fermentation

    Duck Duck Gooze (approx 7%abv)

a blend of young and old barrel aged beers.

made in very small quantities & released once every three years

Framboise de Amorosa 2012 (approx 7%abv)

    barrel aged raspberry sour ale

Serpents Stout aged in MaCallan barrels (approx 11%abv)

this was a special batch as their employee christmas beer

We'll also be serving three additional beers.

Well, after being assured by the staff at Monk's that I could purchase two tickets over the phone today, and spending a half hour trying to get them, I was told they were sold out. If anyone has two extra tickets, please let me know.
