Hey all, there are 3 of us cracking 6 beers today (over about 5 hours). The question...what order should we drink these in (and why?) to maximize the experience:

    '11 DL
    '12 DL
    1414
    BA Hi-Fi Rye
    Bligh's Bwine
    2x Uncle Jacob's Stout

    Thanks for the help!

It would help if you drank them over 1/2 hour instead of 5...EPIC!!!

I would do the two DLs first, side by side, then move to 1414, uncle jacob's, blighs, and finish with ba hifi rye. I like to do BA beers first and keep styles congruent. Either way, use some palate cleansers between to keep your tastes about you. Again, just my opinion on what I would do. Cheers!

Edit: Meant to say BA beers last, not first.

I've only tried 3 of your mix, however I've heard feedback regarding some of the others. I'd put 1414 early and DL late. 1414 is very well balanced and will not lead you down over dosing on any one flavor like some of the others may. DL, although it is one I've not tried (hope to some time), I've heard is a pretty sweet BA. Therefore, for the reverse of 1414, I'd put DL late so as to not control the sweetness impact.

    1. Get a vat
    2. Dump all the bottles into it.
    3. Pull out 6 straws.
    4. Distribute straws.
    5. See who can drink the most!

Thanks! My buddies and I are leaning towards BA Bwines first (can best appreciate the nuances and subtleties), the (1414, then into the Uncle Jacob's (higher ABV, still BAd) and finishing with the BIG imp stouts.

We have another equally complicated line-up to consider for the 4th: '08-'11 BCBS vert, Lawson's Double Sunshine, Gandi-Bot, Fruet, Event Horizon, and a Huna. 1st world problems, I guess...

Sorry, please see above. We're going funnels. Plus vats and long straws are hard to come by...

Regular DL isn't barrel aged, just FYI. I do agree it's pretty sweet, though.

    First:

1414- as said, everything else will overpower it
11/12 DL- non-barrel aged but heavier and strong than the 1414
Uncle Jacob's Stout- first barrel aged beer and stronger than DL

Take a break, have some water, eat some crackers

Bligh's then BA Hi-Fi- in order of my preference

    Second:

Gandhi-Bot then Double Sunshine- in order of my preference
Huahpu- a lot of flavors you don't want meddled with by the barrel aged beers

    Take your break

Event Horizon- not bad, but least impressive of the rest
08-11 BCBS- highlight of your night
Fruet- stronger than the BCBS and a lot more alcohol in the flavor for a good night cap

Good point, forgot that it's just the ultra limited. Thanks for the reminder.

Thanks man! We're probably going to start with the BA Bwines above though...I'm worried about pallet fatigue w the DL's so early in the line-up! We're also thinking about the BCBS vert to start (again, when pallets are fresh) then the IIPAs to break things up...then into the EH, Huna, Fruet...we'll see! May throw it all out the window and really mix it up. Thank you so much for the advice!

Back at cha. 1414, not UJ, is the first BA if you're recommending the order 1414, DL, UJ.

We're into this, here's where we are:

    1) BA Hi-Fi -- wow, hoppy and delish
    2) Bligh's -- def the #2 english bwine, amazing -- don't love the sweetness
    3) UJ's -- surprisingly smoking, the 17% ABV made me pee in my pants a little bit...

Next, 1414. Then the DL's -- after that, I'll probably fully wet myself...

LoL, I like how you asked for advice with regard to order, then ended up doing the opposite of what people suggested.

My dearest Davole and Arbitrator, please help me make sense of my insanity. I got multiple perspectives -- some that recommended the exact order I did (BA bwines, then BA stouts, then DLs); and others that were the inverse. I also got folks who recommended funnels and vats w straws. I was inclined to do BA bwines, then BA stouts, then DLs as it was. It isn't as tho I normally drinkbudweiser and these beers fell in my lap and I didn't know what to do... Just looking for thoughts... Drinking DL's first that coat the mouth w the thickness of the beer could skew the rest of the tasting...that was my thought, and it proved correct. Just bc someone writes 5 paragraphs w their opinion doesn't mean I have to take it...right?

    Thanks, EW

Any chance you're taking applications for friends?

Also I have nothing constructive to add.

I don't care what you do and didn't mean anything by my post. For the record, I'd probably pick the order you did anyway since I like to taste the rarest stuff on a clean palate so I can do unadultered reviews.
