I don't know what I could offer to this, as my opinions tend to run contrary to most. I don't like to have "epic" tastings of multiple rare brews anymore -- because while it makes for a good photo op, it doesn't allow you the chance to sample and appreciate everything on a clean palate.

I typically recommend working up in order of flavor, with the strongest stuff coming last. Personally, I'd have thrown the Dark Lords in the garbage, then done the Jacob's, Bligh's, 1414, and BA Hi-Fi Rye.

I also think that most people's palates kind of crap out between 5 and 7 beers. If I open more than that, I like to make sure I pad the lineup with shitty beers.

That's how I feel too. I cringe everytime I see pictures of a couple dozen empty white whales.

Just drink the bottle of 1414 and call it a night. That is the best beer in that line up by a long shot! Honarable mention to BA HIFI & Blighs!

I would have saved the Dark Lords for last, but not for the the same tasting...more like for five years or so to see if that 120-Minute-like-sweetness softens into something drinkable.
