Ageism in beer is a horrible thing!

If it's not clear by now, go for it.

I've had several from the 9/30 batch over the past 6 weeks, including last night and they are awesome. No drop off.

    Proceed with confidence.

I bought a 4-pack dated 9/30 last night. It was good, but the hops did seem a bit subdued.

Mine is a few days older than yours & still drinking great. Mock all you want people, but this is a beer to stick near the front of the fridge. Several other harvest IPAs quicker than 6 weeks ( some of them fairly local ).

Im sure it wont be as good, but I also don't think it would be bad. If that makes sense. Drink the hell out of it! I would.

I get the point here, and agree with it. However, I would hope that if Founders released something that would fall off that quickly they'd release it in single bottles rather than 4-packs.

If you think that month-and-half old Harvest ale tastes the same as when it was first bottled, you're crazy. Hell, it started to fall off the minute it was bottled. You know that these harvest ales need to be drank immediately! Why drinking that any time after a wee--

Sorry. Caught myself taking my hobby a little too seriously again.

Michael, did you get a chance to try the Victory Harvest Ale this year?

    Cheers!

Alright. I've been shamed. I bought two four packs and it's one of the best freaking beers I've ever had! I'm going back for more after work. Cheers everyone. Keep piling on. I deserve it.

Never had Harvest, but I've had 6 month old Double Trouble and it was fantastic.

It's not a legit question because it assumes that there is a major difference between beer that's one week old and beer that's six weeks old.

This year's Victory Harvest Ale was particularly good. They got the wet hops from Yakima Valley this year.

I am sorry to hear that it wasn't available for you.

    Cheers!

Coincidentally, there's another thread going on the Mid-Atlantic board right now:

and it's looking like Victory's distributor in our area may be dropping the ball lately. :slight_frown:

    Boy, that stinks about NJ.

I was recently in one of my local beer distributors and they had a stack of DirtWolf that was only a couple of weeks old. I looked at it longingly but I have a batch of homebrewed IPA (a duet of Simcoe & Amarillo) that I am drinking right now. I couldn't justify buying the fresh DirtWolf.

    Cheers!

Thanks- I'm texting my brother to hopefully pick some up for Thanksgiving then. Fingers crossed!
