You guys have helped me out with so much so far and I know you can help me out with this one. Forgive me if I missed it, I did a search for Montreal and it seemed very broken up and so I post this question.

Can you guys give some shout outs to beers that I should drink while in Montreal? I've been to Montreal a bunch of times but this is the first time I'll be going as the me who really cares about beer.

As always, any input is much appreciated! Thank you!

    Cheers!

Brasserie Dieu Du Ciel - They do some amazing beers, but really love to be playful with their creations, definitely worth a stop.

Benelux Brewpub & Café - Fun pub, worth having a drink in the old vault (it was a bank before being a pub).

Vices & Versa - Great beers on tap.

Broue Pub Brouhaha - Nice local pub.

Dépanneur Peluso - This is the bottle shop for local beers

The Atman brothers (http://www.decapsule.com) are a great source for the word on the street when it comes to beer in Qc! Here is a nice article about them: http://beerism.ca/2014/05/08/living...eam-beerism-does-decapsules-colab-king-cogne/

Good luck, Montreal is where I was baptized into craft beer, be warned.

    Cheers,
    Dave

This is great! Will only be there for 3 nights so this is plenty. Thank you @davegray and @smakawhat! Also, thank you @Todd for moving my thread to the proper forum!

Le Trou du Diable and Castor, really won't go out of my way for McAuslan but their stout is good.

Please forgive my ignorance here....but my dad will be vacationing in Montreal starting a week from Monday, and plans to visit Dieu du Ciel. Are bottles-to-go sold at the brewery?

Not at the Montreal brewpub, but there are two very good stores within blocks of the brewpub. In St Jerome they sell special editions of barrel aged and rare stuff if available but not the regular products to my knowledge.

They actually do sell the regular products but it's the same price as at the store so don't bother.

Here's some pics of my Montréal trip. @davegray, hit'em all and they were great! Thanks! Sorry, this first one's blurry. The bank vault at Benelux.

Brasserie Dieu du Ciel. This was their Moralité on cask. Really loved this. I think maybe The Alchemist Heady Topper guys worked with them to brew this one.

A very nice Saison Rustique at the fantastic Vices & Versa.

These final two pics are from a new place called Station Ho.st recommended by @unibroue4ever. Very nice beers on tap. This was one of their saisons. I had about two too many at this point and was the end of my day. The drive home Sunday was not fun but definitely worth it!

Forgot the most important pic. Stumbled to this point on a bike ride over to Habitat 67. Brought tears to my eyes. I stood and saluted the Beer Gods.

I just saw this thread and wanted to thank you for bringing Saison Host to my attention! I've been a fan of Hopfenstark for a long time, but finding their beers can be pretty tricky as they don't do a lot of bottling. Post Coloniale was probably the first really decent IPA that I ever tasted, I should head down there and give it another try some time.

Anyone here know any good Montreal, or Quebec threads for trading and/or general discussion of our fine quebec microbrews

I think this is it, guy. So what do you like to drink in Montreal? My most recent discovery was Jukebox's Distorsion, which is a really dry IPA that I like quite a bit. There's also the Brasseurs Illimités DH Double IPA, which was formerly called O - possibly the best bottled IPA in Quebec right now?

I've yet to try it but it'll be hard to beat Moralite, Pit Caribou American IPA or Castor Yakima.

I didn't care for it myself - not in the same league as Moralitie, Yakima etc

Totally agree with you. It's at best average. A big letdown. To put this beer with yakima and moralité in the same sentence is a crime!

I thought it was pretty good, really juicy tasting, but it was not super fragrant like Moralité is. I definitely like Yakima and Moralité much better. I would actually be curious to do a cocktail of Moralité and the DH IPA.

I have tried the Pit Caribou's a few times and have never really liked it (maybe they have been old bottles). Regardless, I definitely wouldn't characterize it as an American IPA, based on the times I have tried it...
