Hi all, I'm going to be in Montreal this Saturday through Tuesday and was wondering if there were any recommendations for great spots (other than Dieu du Ciel!). I'm hoping to get to Journee Peche on Saturday night, and I posted in the in-person trade forum if anyone is interested. Thanks and have a great weekend! Cheers!
This thread has a lot of useful information: https://www.beeradvocate.com/ratebe...wn-for-mondial-des-cidres-de-glace_269879.htm (MOD: not sure if links to the other site are allowed, but if they aren't feel free to delete). If you need more info, send me a pm. And if you go to Québec city, feel free to stop share a beer or two at my place.
Vices et Versa has about 40 local beers on tap, so they'd be pretty hard to beat from a selection standpoint. Dieu du Ciel is obviously a classic spot, as is Benelux (whose beers aren't available anywhere else, I think). There's also a brewpub called Station HoSt that I really want to check out, they're affiliated with Hopfenstark brewery, who tend to make a lot of good beers. If you're shopping for bottles, head to Dépanneur Peluso in the east end of town and you'll find a pretty huge selection.
You are in luck this weekend, besides the Peche Day, there is also a terrific beer festival going on Friday and Saturday nights right next to Dieu de Ciel. http://lacuvee.ca/ Ive been 3 years in a row and it keeps getting better. I can't recommend it more.
Wow thanks for this. So my question is, is Peche Day taking place as part of La Cuvee on Saturday, or is Peche Day actually hosted at the brewpub? Lots going on.
Peche Day is it's own separate event at the brewopub but in addition, on the 28th ONLY, La Cuvee will have those special Peche Mortel variations.
And here I was mulling over whether to go or not... (to La Cuvée, that is). I am glad to hear it is good and will definitely try to make it now
Ya LaCuvee is fantastic. Its been getting more and more one-offs and hard to get beers, and there are generally no lines or waiting to get samples, although Im usually there pretty early and leave by the time it gets super busy
