Anyone ever been to this place? Are the beers any good? I was thinking about getting to Savannah this fall and heard about this brewery. Or is it all hyped up cause its supposed to be haunted?
I was there in the spring, their food is pretty good. When we went they didn't have any styles on tap that I prefer and I think I ended up with a pale ale and it was OK. If your going to be there for more than a few days its worth a stop, but if you are only there for a night or two there are better places. But I may have just been at an off time. There is a place called the distillery, they have the best beer selection in Savannah that I found. There is also this place called blowin smoke BBQ that had good beer and BBQ, they have a beer garden to get at if the weather is good.
I've been several times and have always enjoyed the beer and food. It's always reliable, but the great thing is that you can take a beer-to-go with you. Enjoy your trip, Savannah is a beautiful town, especially when the weather is a bit cooler.
John Pinkerton (founder/owner/BA Board of Directors) is an awesome guy, and his brewer, Adam Mathews, is too. Had their Rosemary Swamp Fox IPA at SAVOR this year--fantastic.
They recently opened and World of beer in Savannah. Food was good at Moon River but the beer didn't fit my palate. The distillery is still the go to place IMO.
I have always enjoyed Moon River, and their beers. Pink is a really good guy, great beer guy, and makes great beers!
Is the actual place cool? From what I saw on that cheesy ghost tv show it looked pretty gnarly cause it was so old
