Just tried Death and Taxes this weekend. I was blown away. Will try more from them in the future.

A few friends and I had the rare opportunity to visit Brian at his property, just a couple weeks ago. Truly a brewing pioneer, and as someone mentioned above, he does his things his way. He was absolutely a treat to visit with. Quite the character & F'bombs galore, while still being a fantastic host, generous as hell and a wealth of knowledge.

The sheer sight of the amount of fermenters he stuffed inside his facility is possibly the 8th wonder of the world. I wouldn't necessarily call it a "mistake", but I asked him what "style" a particular beer he served us was. I was greeted with a "F$&! Styles" response, which was followed by a 30 minute lecture on "styles", how they came about, and whether a beer that doesn't fit a style is still a good beer, with of course F'bombs in every other sentence. Possibly the most awesome conversation I've ever had with a pro brewer.

Everything we sampled was delicious, and I think he's still making some of the best beers in CA.

Reality Czeck is the first beer I have whenever I get into SF.
Twist of Fate bitter on cask is delicious.

Had a Lunatic Lager and slice of pizza at the Santa Rosa Mombos for $6 this afternoon. Hard to find a better deal that you can walk to in a couple minutes from the SRJC library!

It really doesn't get much better than a Cowgirl Burger and a tall glass of Twist of Fate at Flavor. Still dream about it...

It is amazing to me that this is mere steps away from RR as well.

Phrasing it that way makes it sounds like an insult, like someone is trying to distribute it and doing a poor job.

Try NO distribution outside of the Bay Area. On purpose. If you want it outside of that small area, you have to come and get it or make arrangements for someone to do so.

Love Moonlight, love Brian. Can't wait until the shop opens, but I have to admit it will steal a little of the mystique.

Another interesting and little known fact is that all Moonlight beers are gluten free. An awesome option for those tired of cider.

They are gluten free. Brian himself told me less than a month ago when picking up his beer for the bar. He uses that same enzyme that Omission uses to remove the gluten. I get the idea that it's for his benefit as much as others.

Apologies, then. How odd that this would not be publicly known.

I need to stop by trivia next week and get me some moonlight. That video above has me thirsty.

I agree. I just don't think it matters to him. He certainly doesn't need another selling point...

For anyone who is in the area, there will be a 21st Anniversary Celebration for Moonlight at the Toad in the Hole tonight. Don't really have any more details than that, just saw it on Twitter.

I've never had a beer from them that was merely good, always outstanding.

    and this:

Pretty much a given that if I am at Toronado for more than a couple beers that BBB on cask will be one of them.

I enjoyed the write-up about your RR and Moonlight visits.

I thought the Coffey location was already brewing after seeing these pictures from ratebeer earlier this year:
