Moonraker Brewing Thread

Jungle Crush was pretty tasty yesterday. Got cans as well as a growler of Diloris.

 

Fridays release at Noon.

Interesting that Moonraker changed this release today to "NO LIMITS". Most likely due to the fact that they still had leftover cans from the June 2nd release last week.

Heard a rumor from a buddy that Zack (juicemaster 3000) is leaving moonraker? Anyone else heard about this?

 

I haven't seen anything on the 2 biggest Sac facebook groups. Sac Beer Enthusiasts or Sac Beer Group. News/Rumors like that would run like wildfire there.

I have heard some speculation that a new Sacramento Area brewery would be smart to make an bigger $$ offer for Zack (Head Brewer) or Kyle (Brewer) to start up their place.

Have you heard anything about Moska Brewing? They are the new brewery taking over the Dragas space in Rocklin. The owner also owns Auburn Thai Garden. Huge Moonraker fan.

 

I'll let Nu make the official announcement, but the brewers that he has will likely make Sacramento very happy.

Turns out your source was right about somebody LEAVING Moonraker.

It was actually Assistant Brewer Kyle Leddy that left Moonraker. Kyle is now Head Brewer at New Glory in Sacramento. Nice promotion for him.

 

And then the head brewer of New Glory goes too...

 

Can Release on for Friday 6/30 at Noon. NO LIMIT again. Holy Hermit DIPA, Jungle Double Crush DIPA and Alpha Tide WC IPA.



Also a special Can Release on Monday 7/3. Outrigger WC IPA.

 

I just realized I missed the part where they said they open at noon. Think they'll still have cans at around 3? This no limit thing and is making me ponder these questions.

 

I would guess yes since these particular beers are not as hyped as YOJO, DOJO or Electric Lettuce. Also locally, Fieldwork and a few others have Can Releases this holiday weekend to compete.

Holy Hermit is one of my favorites though. The Alpha Tide could last for a bit since it is a West Coast that has been on tap and available for growlers for a while now.

I think they changed to "No Limits" since the can releases were now not sold out for several days. Can't have that....lol.....

 

Was able to finally make it up to Moonraker for the first time yesterday afternoon. Really nice place with tons of room. And after trying a bunch of their beers (Zamboni Haze being my favorite) I'm really not sure why I don't drive up there more often. They really are killing it with their IPA's. My real only complaint is the lack of variety of styles of beers available on tap.

Lots of cans were still available when I left too. I swear people don't mess around when it comes to no limit on cans. Mostly every table I saw had at least two cases.

 

Last Fridays YOJO can release went pretty fast. 170 cases gone in about 1 hour.
