I've been told that they don't actually distribute though, and that when you see it in stores, those stores actually drive up to Auburn and pick them up like us.

No, this new distro is a very recent change. It looks legit. It was a big topic in the local Sac FB groups. With increased production and increased local competition, cans are not instant sellouts with long lines anymore the past few weeks.

It was Whole Foods Santa Rosa. Whole Foods is not driving to Moonraker in Auburn on a can run.

EZ Mart in Clovis gets legit bottle/beer distribution from big name brewers in SoCAL/Norcal as well. https://www.facebook.com/ezmartchevron/ They are almost 4 hours from Moonraker.

Holy Poop Boys, Just had Jingle Crush & YoJo last night. Jingle Crush was Light, Refreshing & Dank. Yojo was THAT, but x2 Wish they distributed to bottle shops down here by LA area.
Still have A Holy Hermit in the Fridge waiting for me. Cannot wait to crack that bad boy

Moonraker just released "Electric Lettuce" DIPA cans again today. That is probably my favorite from Moonraker. Originally a collab with Alvarado St. https://untappd.com/b/moonraker-brewing-company-electric-lettuce/2046582

If you get a chance to trade for that one.... it is a winner.

The last batch of Electric Lettuce was incredible, but it fell off hella quick. I'm not one of those freshness snobs either but damn, two week old EL was pretty much a different beer to me.

I've never had Electric Lettuce, but it sounds right up my alley and every time I hear about people drinking it, I am overwhelmed with jealousy.

Passing through this evening for the first time, do they have crowlers? Do they fill growlers with other breweries logos?

They likely won't have cans, and I can only get stuff to go, did they typically have stuff like Yojo and Crush available for fills?

They did not have crowlers as of the last time I was there, which was a few weeks ago.
Yojo is usually on tap and there will definitely be a few of the crush series on. Unsure if they fill outside growlers.

It made it to the Visalia EZ Mart as well. But I do think they go make their own can runs, do not think they actually get it distro'd.

On Saturday, they didn't allow Yojo or their can releases (Yojo 33 1/3, Dojo) for a fill.

But they did allow Citra Crush, Mosaic Crush, Nelson Crush and Jingle Crush.

Citra Crush (187 cases) and Sling Jaw(96 cases) can release on Friday. This should be mellow and last a few days.

Looking forward to trying Hazy Duz It. Do can releases usually last through the day. Sending my parents to pick some up to bring on their visit to Vegas next weekend but they can not make until tomorrow. Just wondering what the odds are that it will still be available.

Went at 2pm today. Got Hazy duz it and Atomic Betty cans. No line, no wait. Drinking now, both GREAT.

They did 150+ cases of each. They "should " last through Saturday.

I guess it was only a matter of time since they were printing $$ with the Can Releases.

First they expanded/remodeled their tap room. Now they are adding a SECOND PRODUCTION ONLY Facility a few blocks away. More beer on tap and possible Distro.

    From the Sacramento Biz Journal:

Auburn-based Moonraker Brewing Co., which was honored as one of the world's best new brewers, has a problem.

"We just can't make enough beer," said co-owner Karen Powell.

That's why Moonraker is expanding to include an additional brewing facility that's less than a quarter-mile away from its current site.

Powell said the new facility, which is at 2349 Rickenbacker Way in Auburn, could be up and running in late spring. Moonraker currently produces 2,500 barrels annually. With the new facility, it will add 4,800 more barrels as a first-year number that's expected to increase, according to Powell.

"It's something we've talked about for a while," she said of the expansion, which is driven by demand. Powell wants to make more beer available to her customers, many of whom are from the Bay Area. After receiving several awards, Moonraker has attracted a following beyond the Sacramento region.

Moonraker opened in 2016 at 12970 Earhart Ave., Suite 100, and was later honored as the ninth-best new brewery in the world by RateBeer, a resource for craft beer enthusiasts. Along with additional honors from RateBeer, Moonraker has received recognition in other competitions, including the California State Fair.

That recognition has brought demand for Moonraker's beer. Powell said she'd like to have at least 20 beers on tap, but she currently has nine available. Distribution, meanwhile, currently accounts for a "pretty small" percentage of the brewery's overall business, she said. That could increase with the expansion.

At the new facility, Moonraker will brew its staples, allowing the business to experiment with barrel-aged sours and barrel-aged stouts, as well as other experimental beers, at its current brewing location.

Moonraker currently has 12,000 square feet, which includes its tasting room. The new location is 6,000 square feet, according to Powell.

She said Moonraker's owners are leasing the new facility and self-financing its costs, which she did not disclose. The new facility will not have a tasting area.

Moonraker is expanding as the local brewery business gets tougher. Local breweries that went out of business last year included Rubicon Brewing Co. and American River Brewing Co. Powell acknowledged the beer business is "so unpredictable."

Moonraker's approach has been to start small, and grow organically, Powell said.

Hell yes, bring those cans on down here. Not like we don't already have enough weekly options.
