Worth every cent of $25, after having it and savoring every moment. Thankfully still have a bottle left, which I will guard with my life... but could always stand to find a few more!

The can taste is in your head my friend; does draft beer have a metallic taste?

Old Guardian and IRS stout are the least impressive of Stone's portfolio imo. I think both of them are sad excuses for the style; fresh or aged.

Double Bastard on the other had, that is something solid and special.

It was definitely there at first, but it did go away. It does happen sometimes, right after the pour but absolutely goes away. I am a proponent of cans, love Anti-hero. I better try it again and again and again to make sure!

Brooklyn Monster Ale, Anchor Old Foghorn, DFH Olde School, and Weyerbacher Blithering Idiot are all great.

I recently had Stone's Old Guardian and was really disappointed with this beer, especially being from stone. It was all harsh alcohol flavors to me, really off putting.

King Henry. It is so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommed picking one up.

I'm a huge fan of American barleywines. Stone's Old Guardian was recently released and is fantastic. I liked both versions this year. I love cockeyed cooper. Green Flash barleywine reminds me a lot of Bigfoot. Weyerbachers Insanity and Blithering Idiot are decent. Dogfish Old School Barleywine is intense.

oh yeah, I've got a bomber of this aging too. It is good, just a little hot when it's fresh.

I'd just add Bell's Third Coast Old Ale to those listed.

What a sadistic task to suggest to a new barleywine drinker. Equivalent to: You like girls? You might want to try, or at least try to date Kate Upton.
