I am looking for more beers with brettanomyces to add to my cellar. I have several years of Matilda and Sophie and have had great results.

Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

I second Boulevard Saison Brett. Very underrated. Was pretty much my introduction to the style.

If you know anyone in Portland, Maine I suggest:
Foundation Brewing Company - Moveable Type a new (as of this fall) Brett Saison.
Have had 2 so far (early November and just last week) and I've really enjoyed it!

    from their site:

Moveable Type is a farmhouse ale created in the tradition of an old world saison. We began by brewing a provision strength ale, which we then cellared for over a year with Brettanomyces. During the months of cellaring, our saison yeast and the brettanomyces worked together to create a beer rich in tropical fruit notes, balanced by an underlying earthiness. Bottle conditioned, the beer will continue to evolve. This movement in flavor is something we love about farmhouse ales, like a printer’s type, periodically reset to tell a new story.

Just about every Jolly Pumpkin product has brett in it. I recommend Oro de Calabaza and Bam Biere the most.

I'm sure that most, if not every Belgian Lambic have wild Brett strains in them and cellar extremely well.

Have they changed/taken the brett out of Sophie??? First let me say that I completely understand brett takes time to develop BUT I recently had a 2015 and 2014 Sofie .....no apparent brett presence. 2012 is huge brett goodness. Anyone know what's up?

It's not really surprising that an older bottle would exhibit more brett characteristics than a fresh one. The only times I'd expect any different is if the bottle was kept too cold or if it becomes overly oxidized.

I Understand...... I've had experience with hundreds of different Brett beers at different ages but I could not pick up any brett in a one and a half year old bottle of 2014 I'm wondering if anybody knows if the recipe was changed because it definitely is it different beer. Or maybe I just never had the 2012 fresh

2nd Shift Katy. I can't vouch for how it ages, but it was really good fresh. I can't imagine it would get any worse over time.

Brett takes awhile to develop, but not 3 years, more like 6 months. So 2014 should be bretty, so somethings up
