More Brewing (2020)

Well, nuts. Misread their board then. Would've prob grabbed that, too. Doh!

 

I enjoyed Razzimus on draft last time around. For Marbles, I thought the strawberry/vanilla cake across as very artificial tasting. I realize beers like that aren’t being made with strictly purée and whole vanilla beans. Maybe it’s related to scaling up this batch so much but it was a real miss for me.

 

Can see that after my second can. Really enjoyed the first after Cave of Wonders the other day. Last night I had a second can after a double frooted pink Guava and wasn't as hot on it until it warmed up. 1/2. Different moods apparently. Hopefully next can visit it falls back into good graces. Personally, thought Riverlands did the best strawberry milkshake ipa. They nailed it on all fronts.

 

Finally getting around to strawberry marbles. It's fine. Just reinforces my thought that I don't need this style of IPA.

 

I'm still doing really strict social distancing because I have a high-risk person in my family. If I bring in a squirt gun, can they fill it with 5oz and squirt it into my mouth from 6ft?

 

Wonder how long this lasts? I’ll be there Friday for lunch don’t know if it will kick before then

 

Im guessing it will kick before Friday but who knows with the whole Covid-19 situation. There is only 1 barrel of it per their instagram and they encouraged reservations for Wed.

 

1 barrel and 2 locations would lead me to think this kicks on Wednesday but we’ll see as the weather looks shaky in the forecast

 

I hope this isn’t the only mehndi this year. If they want to start a brand new barrel aged stout name because Shaun left that’s fine. But draft only? Come on now

 

I didn’t take it that way. I don’t think they had the barrel capacity to do a large amount of double barrel and still do other BA releases. Maybe that will be different now with Huntley.

 

Welp nothing to worry about now. Both More locations are closed until further notice due to a Huntley employee being around someone who has tested positive for COVID.

 

They had an Instagram story last week where they showed Mehndi 2020 saying more info would be coming soon.

 

Not sure if I'm riding high from the BA Nutellik I drank last night (FAN-FRIGGIN tastic! Wish I had another!) Or if it's just that dang good, but More's Black is Beautiful offering is a great addition to my fridge. Coffee heavy but they replaced the bitter with just a smooth sipper. Great stuff imo despite it not coming cheap.

First Mehndi brewed by someone other than a Shaun?

 

Looks like at least some was brewed by Shaun. Emphasis is mine:

"The Mehndi series is our expression of nuance. For this vintage we selected imperial stout barrels from the past three years and blended our favorites. These barrels previously held bourbon from Buffalo Trace, Weller, Elijiah Craig and Heaven Hill."
