More Brewing (2020)

It's always worth checking outliers. With that specific 3.5, he also recently rated Monstra Tones at 0.25 among other questionable scores. (Yes, I had a lot of time on my hands today. I 'worked from home' while multi-tasking the fact that my new computer was being set up by IT and not ready today, while my phone was cut off from e-mail, Microsoft Teams and all other networks access. On the plus side, I tried Drago Hazelnut around noon.... pleasantly surprised by nice barrel with hazelnut presence which wasn't overkill. I wouldn't shy away from it.)

 

Solid beer, I think there was a lot more nuance than the 2019 Mehndi. Thought the blend was well balanced overall, with all of the tasting notes you’d want in a non adjunct BA stout.

 

Can confirm it was tasty AF. Vanilla and chocolate notes and boozy in a good way.

I couldn't check it in on Untapp'd yet because I believe drinking on my lunch is frowned upon.

I also saw the guy's 3.5 rating, clicked on his profile and saw the Mostra Tones review. I will give him credit for having strong thoughts, i guess? I loved Mostra Tones.

 

Delicious. Smooth as hell, dark fruit that turns into marshmallow fluff. Nice heat on the back. Best Mehndi yet imo

 

Mehndi isn’t on tap in Huntley but the BiB isn’t shabby.

 

Well, that sucks. Was hoping I'd be able to get a pour there. Agree, though, really enjoyed BiB and might add more of it to my pickup of Mehndi especially since I won't be blowing $ on a draft pour.

 

Bummer if you’re into outside patio only (Or mostly) these days. But I guess sometimes there’s only enough for one venue

 

That is bizarre, it's listed on their House draft list. Not what I wanted to hear considering that is where Im grabbing my bottle from.

 

I didn't even think to ask but it wasn't on the paper menu. You'll have to let us know if it's on and maybe I just missed it?

Mehndi 2020 is a pretty nice blend. Lots of barrel character in this one. To me, someone who enjoys no-adjunct/additive BA imperial stouts, this isn't really boozy. Barrel and booziness are two different things, and this has a ton of barrel imparted flavors that aren't demolished by straight alcohol booze/burn at the end. It does have some dark fruit and raisin flavors which may turn off some, but it has plenty of deep dark chocolate, roasty, sweet flavors that work with it. Nice medium-thick feel. I enjoyed it a good bit.

 

I'm having Mehndi right now and have to agree with @eppie82, I get some good barrel but not that alchohol burn and lots of dark fruits a little vanilla as well.. As it warms it melds together and more dark chocolate comes out. Hope my bottle is the same as what's on tap. Oh and cheese curds are on point as well, that is all.

 

Just finished a pour at Huntley. I couldn't have typed this any better myself. Raisin/dark fruit. Outstanding barrel quality, but not necessarily boozy. Medium body. Great stuff. Buddy picks his bottle up Friday with a reservation and hoping I can grab another pour off draft. Thoroughly enjoyed it. 4.6/5 from me, dawg... But I like bourbon.

 

had a pour of Mendi on tap last night and its on tap all week. Per More facebook, they will notify by socail media if it is running low.

 

Not sure what made them think this would be on tap all week.

 

Probably the pandemic, but this is America.

 

Did Mendhi already tap out? Didn't see any social media mention of it.
