I mean, the samosas should see no change in quality, right?

I don’t think there is, but who knows. This gives Shaun control of his business, he wasn’t his own boss, and allows him to build his business. MORE was practice for setting up and running a brewery from the start on someone else’s dime. What a great experience. Now he gets to decide when to cash out and gets a higher percentage of the sale since he will no doubt be majority equity holder- something MORE couldn’t give him.

How could these fools not have him locked into some type of contract. Zero business sense

Wouldn’t he have been a fool for signing it?

MORE completely removed the "About Us" section of their website where they had small bio's of the brothers, Shaun and Evan their former GM.

I'll admit I saw this as the least likely scenario. There's no way that he shouldn't have had at least 25% share of More. There's no other reason for their success. Not the food, the branding, the ambiance, nothing.

Hopefully he can some stouts that don't all have the same name. Can we finally talk about how dumb the Henna branding was? Henna B1-4 or whatever. Really terrible. Another pro tip, if I've just been waiting in line for hours for a beer, the last thing I want to do is walk into a brewery that thinks it's a college bar, blasting '90s hip hop at 10am.

I wonder how long until we find out about a new brewer at More. Their choices could depend on exactly how weird the breakup with them and Shaun was. Shaun has obviously got a lot of friends in the business and is the most well known individual brewer in Chicago, so it makes me wonder if someone like Eric from Corridor (I have no basis for that, other than that would be who I'd probably contact if I were More) would not want to take the gig because of what went down.

If More is going forward with their expansion plans, and why wouldn't they, then this is a prime spot for learning and growing for someone who wants their own brewery down the line because they get to experience the entire process like Shaun did.

I mean, their largest asset just walked out the door, that would definitely give me pause if I was them...

Kind of random - but I wonder what the collaboration Shaun did with Side Project will be released as. It's in barrels - so not coming out for some time. I would think they brand it as a MoRE collab but have no clue.

Listen to the Average Joe's podcast today. Tons of information sprinkled throughout. The timing of the exit being Monday would be considered abrupt/accelerated due to the Huntley loan closing coming up. So while they may have already decided on a new head brewer, they weren't thinking they were gonna need one this week

Entire brew process yes. Though it sounds like Shaun's business-side involvement was much overestimated here on the forums

I'll bet it does. More owns it. Why not try to make money off it and anything else he has in barrels. If Cory think it's hurt his brand, he may buy the beer himself.

More doesn't have to open up top tier brewpubs to be successful. They just have to open them in cities that are craft beer deserts. They can go from top tier to middle of the road and still be handsomely profitable. I can't name half the breweries in the suburbs or even the names of the brewers at the most successful ones. Shaun's leaving will take away the prestige for craft fans but, it won't impact locals from going to More when they just want a night out with some craft beer....
