More Brewing Co (2019)

Based on Instagram posts, here is the information around these collaborations -

Voodoo = estimated18 - 24 months from 2018 FOBAB
Bottle Logic = estimated over a year from 2018 FOBAB
Weldwerks = collab took place in Greeley estimated 12-24 months from 2018 GABF

 

Okay, that would suggest the Weldwerks will be released in CO and is not part of the tally (unless there was another one, WW has been at FOBAB).

 

Yeah that's the one. I was surprised at that part because I assumed that was a criticism that brewers who make hazy/fruited sours/pastry stouts have heard 1000 times. People should hear for themselves but I would paraphrase what he said to include:

-His wife reminded him to emphasize serving locals. There seemed to be an implication that he didn't want to contribute to "line up for releases" culture and/or he was agreeing with the other panelists on that point.
-He said they've spent the last 4 years dialing in their core beers
-He talked about wanting to make more styles of beers and stuff that's easier to drink (lagers and pilsners)
-He talked about how pre-expansion the plan was a satellite tasting room in Wisconsin. It seems like the door is still open to tasting rooms in both Chicago and Wisconsin.

The last two points have been reported elsewhere so that may not be considered news. But there was a combination of stuff I found interesting or just flat our disagreed with (i.e. what's happened to core beers like Check 1,2).

 

Did he address oxidation issues at all?

 

Same Patel kid did post shitty comment on yelp about his visit to MORE

 

I can just imagine a haggard Mike looking in the mirror, barely able to meet his own gaze.

"I haven't had a pilsner on tap in months. How can I even call myself a brewer?"

Walks into the brewing area and starts tipping over vessels "IT DOESN'T EVEN TASTE LIKE BEER!"

 

thats literally his only review on yelp too. kid is out for blood.

 

That's really unfortunate. He asked them a baiting / borderline derogatory question on Facebook - they took the bait, and answered it in a pretty funny fashion (though I would have recommended taking the high road), so he retaliates on yelp with a clearly made up situation one day later? Shows how reliable those review sites are.

 

LOL. Looking forward to his White Castle review. I've been to More 3 times now (small sample size) but my service has been just fine everytime. Actually should be there on Saturday for lunch with friends. Looking forward to it.

EDIT: Just went back and looked at that FB post. Why is it that so many people on the internet are complete tools? I always wonder if these same people are that way in real life.

I don't think telling a guy he doesn't know what he is talking about is "exploding like a nine year old". Seems like you're just upset about something.

 

It's a pretty petty move from a business owner to lash out over someone on an internet board on what was a joke. Bad PR IMO. But then again Shaun will always have fan boys no matter what he does.

 

Any word on cans happening this weekend? Gonna be in town and hoping for some hops. Nothing on social media from what I see, but sometimes I don't internet so good.

Lol more has some of the best service of any brewery in the area. It is impossible to sit at the bar and not get asked if you are doing ok every 5 minutes.

 

Yep, there is a female bartender (blonde hair) who will literally ask you how every beer is and how the food is doing. The moment you finish, your plate is gone. One of the nicest, most attentive bartenders I have ever met at a brewery.

 

I like More - it’s good food and good beer, but I strongly disagree with your comment here. By no means am I a regular, but I’ve been there probably 7 or 8 times and the service is spotty at best. Granted, I have never sat at the bar, but it shouldn’t matter where I sit to get good service. I’d say about half of my visits have had subpar to bad service.

 

From my experience that was very true at the beginning, their first year or so, and it seems to be completely better. Again, just my experience, but it's 1 mile away and I go there a decent amount

The bar has almost always been great service as @Shriner describes above. Even when crowded.
