In the eyes of the law, yes. In impact, no.

Speeding is a better comparison. I'm sure none of you "get off my lawn" guys have ever driven over the speed limit. Since, you know, it's illegal and all.

So now that 5-O is runnin' deep, is anybody still down to bottle share?

Agreed. It's a way for them to rationalize showing up way too early.

The question was, "Is bottle sharing allowed?"

No matter what Shaun or the owners of More say, the answer is NO, bottle sharing is not allowed on the public sidewalk of Villa Ave in downtown Villa Park.

Obviously, the entitled beer nerd will do whatever he or she wants, and everything may be fine, but it's still not "allowed"

Maybe we should work to change the law so drinking in public is not illegal. There is no justification for not being able to walk around the city on a nice weekend and responsibly enjoy a few adult beverages.

Rome allows it and there is no issue. But they also allow drinking as young as sixteen and there isn't such a stigma attached to alcohol there.

This whole idea that you can and should use a brewery's grand opening/can release as an opportunity to stand in line at 8 in the morning and pass around beers from other breweries is still pretty perplexing to me. I guess I'll never understand it.

This is my point. To me it's just not worth it to do - and I do agree if it was allowed it would be fun to do so responsibly and respectfully. It's just not allowed.

Have at it. Seems like there are more serious injustices out there if you want to right some wrongs, but spend your time how you'd like.

Cop said if it's discrete and no one is an asshole, then it's ok to drink. I'm standing 5 feet away from drinkin.

    Granted it's still illegal

Maybe 100? I couldn't see up at the very front, so that's just a guess.

But the cops here have definitely been very cool, as others have stated.
