    Nailed it!

I was aiming for BAA BAA black sheep, but you got the spirit of it. Gold star!

“BAA BAA Blacksheep, have you any mules?
    Yessir, yessir, 3 bags full
One for my checkbox, one for my trade,
One for my local share right down the lane...”

There are definitely "fake" trade offers that happen for beers. When I was in the Henna b1 line, people were posting FT: Vanilla Rye ISO: Henna with the sole intention of increasing the value of the bottle they were about to get. I wouldn't bite on the pre-trade legitimacy.

That being said, Shaun has a strong track record so no reason to think these will not be very good beers.

I don't know that there were any fake trade offers. I closed that deal right after the Henna 1 release. I traded a Batch 1 for a VR

I think hes stating trade offers that are put on this board, etc. You saying you did it is great and everything but you have 0 trade feedback on this forum, so maybe you did maybe you didnt.

For all of you non-FIB BA’s who seem to have descended upon this thread, and are discussing pre-release trade values (some actual $ amounts being thrown around no less), PLEASE STOP! We have enough shitlords in Chicagoland who are licking their chops over this release. Don’t make it worse.

They could just hide all the wristbands in the patch of trees along the prairie path as the scavenger hunt. Or better yet, string them up from the tops of the trees and make everybody climb up to get them. You want your bottle? Get up there big boy!

Do they actually just take Abraxas and age it in a barrel? Or do they adjunct it post-barreling? I'm learning that most adjuncted BA stouts get hit with the adjuncts after their nap in the barrel -- even those for which there is both a regular and a BA version.

So, I read this somewhere also. I think this was brought up a ton in the Bourbon County thread. This makes "sense" with something like Northwoods, where you could create a "slurry", as someone put it, and then blend it in. But what about with something like those ingredients in Abraxas. Would you just condition them on those ingredients for 3 weeks, or however long they would regular abraxas?

They age their base stout in barrels which is used for all their BA stouts like Maman, BA Sump, BA 17, etc.

You are right Beer_Economicus, they just take the base BA stout and age it on the chilis, vanilla, cacao nibs, and cinnamon the same way they for reg abraxas. If they aged the regular version of abraxas in barrels, the adjuncts would fade as expected.

I find it interesting that More address almost every other logistic on the EB page but leave out the topic of bottle sharing. Unless I missed it, I don't think they've addressed it on any of their social media platforms either. I've certainly seen the question asked. They could easily state no bottle sharing but by not even addressing it they appear to be sticking to a tacit approval approach. tl;dr yes, there will be bottle sharing. Bring a coffee cup for your 'coffee'.

If there are several hundred people in line at 7am, the line will start moving a good bit earlier than 10 am imo. The last thing the village wants is hordes of people, a good number of which are likely sharing 'single origin coffee', lingering about for 3 hours. In any case, Friday will be a good indicator as to how the other 2 days play out.

I checked untapped just in case a friend had been given a taste, and no dice.

BTW, adding that Vanilla Bean Assassin into that was overkill. You could have stopped before that. I'm shocked you had a VBA but no 23yr PVW. Sad days.

it's somewhat hypocritical. they say that you shouldn't line up before 7 a.m. because it's against village ordinance and there will be security and police there to enforce it. yet drinking alcohol in public off of private property at 7 a.m., which is ABSOLUTELY against the law, is not only not addressed, but as you said, tacitly approved.

Bottle sharing on that path on a nice sunny day is a great time. I plan to arrive early with my chair and backpack cooler.

Is it bad that I hope for arrests (but no one injured) rather than rain? Would hate for the cops to have to stand in the rain due to silly neckbeards, and would love for them to have a reason to drag out the paddy wagon.

I might accept people falling asleep in porta johns and calamity ensuing if that is also an option.

Why? So much bitter in here. It’s just beer. Relax.

You’re expending an awful lot of energy thinking and writing about an event you aren’t attending.

I desperately wish this release started tomorrow and not a week from tomorrow. I want to be entertained!

Oh, and I fully expect visual evidence from those there like I provided on black Friday. Shit like this was a very common sight at LP that fateful day. Lest we forget...
